My parents got one and having heard it I really want one...
Just don't have enough clearance on a single credit card to purchase and as far as I am aware @Drop doesn't allow splitting orders across multiple credit cards.
Kind of hope this comes back around in a month when I'll have ~$1000 clear on a card to spend.
If anyone has the issue where it stops responding to certain remote signals and you can't access the home menu, try unplugging the soundbar for 10s or so and plugging it back in. Did the trick for me despite lots of forums with people saying they had to send it in for repair. Been great ever since.
ezseattleThis soundbar is a complete system as most soundbars are; you do not need a receiver to work. It does "sort-of" function like a receiver by itself.
As for sound concerns, it won't beat true physical speakers IMHO, but for a soundbar this is pretty decent! Get the right room and settings for said room and it quite alive. There's also enough bass to have neighbours complaining about you for days.
Anyone have this and use it in a fairly open room?
Behind my TV is a large opening to the dining room, and there is no wall on the right (leads to foyer). Not sure how badly this would affect the soundbar
PandaSPURSounds like you're in a C shaped room and it should be fine. Some settings should be tweaked for optimal sound, especially if you want to hear ATMOS effects (assuming your source has it). Otherwise, this soundbar is a certain (and surprisingly HEAVY) upgrade from TV speakers and most "low-end/entry" soundbars
