Wow i got excited for a second ,(at least however long it took me to scroll down from the top photo ) then i saw the clip (not a big problem for me) an instant deal killer for many ,then the blade size 2 inch . Sadily i thought there was finally a company aside Artisan offering D2 for under $50.00 ,oh well nice looking picture anyway.
RudolphIt's great for people who live in places like Boston where you can't have anything over 2.5"
there are more knives available in the 3 inch range than the 2-2.5"
If you are under 18, the limit is 2"
I'm not interested in this knife, but I definitely would be if I didn't have a few that fit the bill already. It's good to see more options in this space.
The clip is not only offensive it is on the wrong end. The idea of a lanyard hole on a folder is so that you can pull the lanyard to pull the knife out of your pocket. I have no idea what a manufacturer is thinking when they put the hole on the opposite end of the knife from where the clip is attached. It results in a lanyard that serves no real purpose to me. Few manufacturers make this mistake but it is glaring on this knife. I will not buy it for that very reason.
Spokes30That is indeed the main function of a lanyard and its related hole in most cases, but there is a secondary purpose for lanyards on some knives that I find to be even more important sometimes, depending on the particular knife. And that's for a lanyard to serve as extra real estate to grip onto when using a knife with a short handle, as I am today with my lil blue Calmigo amigo:

I HATE handles that are too short for all four fingers to grip if there is also no lanyard. It just feels...off. Like I cant figure out where to put my fingers that aren't gripping something. I imagine I'm a minority, at least in my intensity on the subject, but this knife has a 3" handle, according to specs (did I read that right? seems very short) and I wouldn't consider buying a knife with such a short handle if it didn't also have a lanyard hole. I too would prefer the clip flipped, but I could live with this configuration.
I tell you what I'm sick of though: D2 steel. It was never my favorite, and now it seems like it's everywhere and with pretty variable quality.
Just my size and loving the aesthetics. Liking the lightening holes and modified sheepsfoot. I can work with D2 and SS frame at this price.
I'd have picked this up if the clip weren't so offensive. Not only is it right-handed tip-down only but it's haphazardly placed partially over the pivot. Even as I try to convince myself it was purposefully placed to capture the pivot insert during disassemble, it's unsightliness outweighs any utilitarian function. And it's made with odd angles that don't follow any of the existing lines.
Hope we get to see a version 2 with corrected deep carry, tip-up clip.
