New from Los Angeles–based leather goods company This is Ground, the Riff case is designed you hold everything you need when you’re on the go. It’s a riff on the company’s first carryall, the Mod—now smaller and more refined. Made of 100-percent cowhide leather in a range of colors, it has dedicated sleeves and straps for your phone, pocket notebook, business cards, pen, and earphones or charging cable. The Riff is designed to fit comfortably in your hand and features a sturdy zipper and a microfiber-lined phone pocket to protect your screen.

This is Ground’s mission is simple: Create minimalist, easy-to-carry tools that allow people to be more creative and productive every day. All products are designed and prototyped in the company’s headquarters in downtown Los Angeles using leather sourced in Tuscany. The leather’s character comes to life during the wash-and-dry phase, and it’s then pressed for smoothness and dyed with vegetable tannins to achieve its signature colors. Enriched with cow fat for scratch protection and spray-finished for a soft hand, it promises to age well and develop a unique patina over time.
