Plenty of power - amazing performance

There is plenty of power using the 6.35mm output. It drives my r70x and HD600 to unsafe listening levels. Balanced provides even more oomph. The performance of this amp is impressive. Everything is crisp and clear but there feels like a nice slight warmth to it, though not from distortion as it measures as one of the cleanest amps ever. The dynamics are fantastic and it all sounds perfect. I highly recommend snagging one if they pop back up again!

Rich clean power in a tiny package

Beautifully crafted instrument-grade amplification in a tiny package... for a C note? Seriously, what's not to love? I've found precisely no need whatever for the balanced output as the 6.3mm delivers oodles of juice: I've run my Hifiman's (Arya (originals), Edition X, Sundara's), as well as my Focal's (Elex, Elegia), Sennheisers (hdxx, 660s) and even my old AKG K701's w/o turning the volume past 10 o'clock. Gobs of headroom. I'll spare y'all waxing on about the "sound" from this amp as it simply produces a sweet and pure output that let's your headphones sing -- whatever your headphones sound like, that's what they'll sound like with this amp. Literally, there is no audible distortion of any kind - just clean power. I write this in-part because it's apparent than some folks here aren't familiar with what "balanced" outputs are/mean in terms of amplification or sound. Put differently -- with this amp, you don't need the balanced output unless you have some rarefied and highly inefficient headphones. If that's you, then you likely already have balanced cables and are already using them... Anyhow, I've paired this with the D50s DAC (purchased on Drop several years ago) which leaves me with a tiny little stack that tucks nicely into the corner of my desk. In short -- this a wonderful, tiny, amp delivering rich, clean sound. If you want fuzzier "warmer" sound (aka distortion), get yourself a tube amp (I have several and like them as well, though for different reasons) -- if you want super clean strong power, this little amp fits the bill.

This amp does a great job driving my Arya Stealths with a rather neutral sound. There is a noticeable improvement with the balanced output, but both sound good. Week in and no complaints.

It is for “Balanced headphones”!

The product title says all. “Balanced”. I bought it anyway since it has normal 3.5 output too and it was on sale. Big mistake! The unbalanced (3.5) output is very weak. I hear that balanced output is quite good. If you don’t plan to pay extra money for a balanced cable don’t buy this. I see now why it was on huge sale. It’s a tough sell. But to be fair, might be a good value if you are planning to use balanced cables.
