Unfortunately while sounding great, the unit didn't respond to the commands from remote, so I'm returning it as I don't want to be stuck with paperweight once the return window lapses.
andblrRan into the same issue within two weeks of purchasing the product (though I bought it on Amazon, not Drop). Worked great -- until it stopped responding entirely.
andblrYou're sure hasn't got anything to do with the lithium battery inside the remote ?
Other than the DX3 not responding to input from the remote, you were still able to do things like switching inputs and outputs with the volume button ?
DopethroneMine came with a different remote that took 2xAAA batteries. I've tested the IR blaster of the remote by looking at it through my phone camera and it was pulsing.
KestrelXWhile I could control the unit by other means, this issues clearly demonstrates the lack of a proper quality control on the Topping side and, given short support/return window from Drop, I decided to avoid the risk of having a ~$200 metal brick in the near future. While it looks and sounds great, it's a great device but they need to invest more resources into delivering reliable product to their customers.
andblrUnderstandable, as long as the unit doesn't get stuck in standby mode I'll still consider getting one.
At least the V2 version fixes that.
You're lucky though, I'll probably have to buy from AliExpress since there are no local retailer selling Topping products
donerick456Thanks dude but unless you're giving it away, I think I'll wait until I can purchase it somewhere with a good warranty (and a discount preferably)
