Standing desks have taken office spaces around the world by storm. And it makes sense why: For one, they’re clinically proven to increase blood circulation and calories burned, which reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease Read More
I found an old butcher block top, secondhand, in exactly the dimensions I wanted, cleaned it up, and installed it on the desk frame over a long weekend. I couldn‘t be happier with this setup. The frame is sturdy. I opted for the dual-motor, and I’m glad I did, because the top itself weighs about 110 lbs. The extra lift capacity means that the motors have no issue lifting everything, and it moves smoothly.
This review is based on using the product for 90 days. I purchased the dual motor option to create a desk for my work at home spouse. The dual motor may have been overkill, as her desk setup consists of a single 27 inch monitor on a stand, a laptop, a headphone stand and some miscellaneous office supplies (pens, pencils, sticky notes). We used an IKEA desk top that we already owned (60 inch width).
Assembly - pretty simple, probably took about 60 minutes working at a deliberate pace
Learning curve - took my wife about 30 minutes to figure out the UI (to me, it was not intuitively obvious).
Use - 90 days in, no problems or issues. Works like a champ. Wife transitions from sit to stand about 6 times a day.
Other observations - this thing will raise up ridiculously high. Makes it easy to get underneath and add cable guides and such.
I would buy this again and I would recommend it to friends and family.
The desk is a lot sturdier than I expected; minimal wobble at max height. Almost everything is fantastic, but I had two problems with it: 1. The instruction manual had descriptions in wrong order. It took me a while to figure it out. 2. the tabletop is being held by only eight screws, four per each leg. Which means only four screws will be responsible for holding up the 70 lbs metal legs when you accidentally lower the desk too much and make it tip over because of a chair below. And if the tabletop is some particle board from Ikea, the screw holes will be damaged as well, which will make the desk wobble more.
Got mine a couple days ago, just got it assembled last night. I love this thing. I have the 2 motor version. I honestly couldn't figure out why a sit/stand desk had 3 height settings, but after a while I found that if I wanted to lean back and relax and watch something on my main screen, raising it up a bit was more comfortable. So, I have sit height, relax height, and standing height. I only wish that it had the ability to set a hard upper height limit. I have a shelf above my desk and my monitor arm post would plow right through it if I'm not careful in manual mode.
After I ordered this, I saw a review online stating that the desk was not stable and had some wobble to it at standing height. Happy to say that they must have fixed this issue. Mine is very stable. I am pleased with the purchase.
Really like my vivo standing desk. I knew I wanted this style because I’ve used them at work, and couldn’t beat this deal for my home office. I mounted a 96”x25” Acacia counter on top, and it works flawlessly. It was easy to assemble, parts are heavy duty and good quality. I actually mounted the tray on the life mechanism side so you can’t see it when raised. I keep my pc on top and use a single mounted articulating arm for my tv monitor.
DarganslayerCan u post some more pics?. Do you think 25" width is enough or would you have gone for bit wider. I am looking at Ikea ones and the width is confusing to choose.
Combined this with the karlby countertop from ikea and wow is it a great looking and performing desk! Although the countertop is slightly bigger than recomended, it lifts it just fine with the dual motor option!!
I bought the single motor standing desk in August '18. I had made a wood desktop that weighed about 80 pounds and wanted a standing desk frame that was cheap but effective. I have a dual monitor setup, my PC case and sound system all on the desk and it probably weighs about 150lbs all together. The desk raises and lowers with no problem. It's exactly what I needed at a low price point.
Noteworthy comments:
-Comes with three (3) cable clips with dual sided tape.
-Comes with mounting screws and hardware for 3/4 inch minimum thickness tabletop.
-Table wiggles slightly at highest setting (Not an issue at all for me)
-Table frame is held together by screws. Easy to assemble.
-The minimum height of the desk will require you to have an adjustable chair OR a keyboard tray. You will need to adjust where your arms will be in order to type at a 90 degree angle.
Remember that you are paying about $200 less than the next tier quality standing desks. So build quality, longevity, and reliability will be affected. I haven't noticed any issues with these factors but only time will tell. I would expect the electronics to go out before the frame does. I don't have any reference for how much better a $400 frame would be, but I don't raise and lower my desk every day like some may need to do. Just keep this in mind.
I would recommend buying this! My roommate liked it so much he bought one.
Some small issues putting the frame together though nothing major. The touch pad is unresponsive if unless you regularly plug and unplug the motor cables and power supply. If it wasn't for that I'd give this a 4 or 5 star review.
Edit: Turns out I just didn't know how to use the console.
