From what I'd read about these screenless players you don't need much more memory in there.
Without the screen it's impossible to navigate large files database. You drop a couple of music folders from computer or phone before leaving home and you are ready to go. Rinse and repeat next time.
This is hi-end player with hi-end build and design, a fashion statement like Zippo or Davidoff lighters.
There are two parallel Wolfson wm8740 DAC circuits inside with buffered op-amp outputs.
I don't know about this particular player, but people who heard Shozy Alien (a similar design) said it leaves Fiio X5 in the dust by its sound quality.
I'd be happy to try xDuoo X1 when/if the price drops...
