I see that the photos show it built without a plate, is this because of the RGB lighting? I wonder how the RGB lighting will work with plates, would a plate obstruct the lighting completely or would some amount of light pass through the transparent switches?

ShanghaiedThe LEDS look like the new flat ones (been upgrading some halogen lights lately and came across them). So I think a plate would block most of the light. I also think that switches without a clear casing on them would block most of the light.

ShanghaiedI built mine with a plate, it doesn't obstruct any light.

waitsfornoneThe SMD LEDs shine up up from normal LED Placement. Switch housing will have a greater effect on the light. You need SMD housings or clear Zealios housings. The only thing a plate will do is reflect a bit of light.

VandenhulI mean, the plate will do more than just reflect light. There's additional rigidity that happens when they're plate mounted vs pcb mounted.
