One of these things is not like the others... Speaking of the old days, I recall several occasions when this particular watch was offered up on MD. According to the original listing: https://drop.com/buy/seiko-sna-flight-alarm-chronograph-watch MD claimed to have sold in the neighborhood of 2,300 units. No wonder they quit selling watches, right? Of course, true Seiko fans will recognize this watch as the "Flighter" otherwise know as the: Flight Chronograph Steel Black Dial Men's Watch SNA411. A classic in its own right, the Flighter was and still is, a bargain-priced chronograph and fully functional flight computer, utilizing a bidirectional, slide rule bezel (assuming one still has the eyesight to read the fairly compact dial). Quirky among Seiko offerings, the Flighter includes a domed (Hardlex) crystal, with a screw-down crown and two screw-down pushers (for the three sub dials), meaning Seiko actually specs this watch for 200 meters/660 feet of water resistance! Damn handy incase you misread the dial and inadvertently run out of fuel and are forced to ditch your F/A-18 Super Hornet in the South China Sea! All in all, a pretty impressive package considering the sub $300 price tag (for the watch, not the Hornet). On the down side, the watch is supplied on an infamously crapy stainless steel, deployant bracelet (certainly one of Seiko's worst) and as memory serves, an odd sized lug width (19mm?) that meant one needed to be fairly creative/determined to find a suitable replacement band or strap. Complicating the issue further, the lug holes were drilled especially close to the case requiring (in my situation) the purchase of a pair of curved spring bars to allow a pretty chunky Zulu strap to be fitted. A bit of a struggle, but worth the time and effort to ditch the tacky metal bracelet. It seems any number of leather straps would look nice too, if a more formal look was required. Damn shame MD doesn't sell them any more. I bet if they did, they'd probably move another 2,300 units! Would you buy one?

Ray, every single time I look at watches, I knock myself for not buying the Flight Alarm when Drop had it. I remember being in AP Chemistry looking at it… Contemplating. I wish that I bought it as people are selling them for nearly double the price now.

DankMistaPanda Have you checked lately? Saw some on Amazon today from the high two-hundreds. Considering Seiko’s entry prices these days, that’s not terrible…
