Are these good with classical music? How is the instrument separation?

Yes, in my opinion. Many reviewers say that they are "veiled", and I believe that this criticism has merit. They can sound rather dull and uninteresting with poor recordings or unsuitable DACs and amps. However, with good recordings they can sound very very good even with an iPad. If the musicians, producers and recording and mastering engineers have done their jobs well, so that every instrument is audible in the recording, then these headphones do a good job of letting you hear that.

jgillinghamThank you very much for your reply. I appreciate your help. I have Grado SR325x now and as much as I like them they can sound a little unclear at times in orchestral pieces
