Greetings from Devil's Tower, Wyoming! Spent a week or so in South Dakota recently--right in the middle of the 82nd Sturgis Rally. I was there on business, but did take my bike along. Believe me, I had no interest in all the rally BS (seen one old fat guy on a Harley wearing a trump shirt, and you've seen 'em all). Me? I was there for the scenery and the roads. Did all the touristy things too: Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower, Deadwood and Custer State Park. The latter was the icing on the cake--best motorcycle roads I've come across yet! If you're ever in the vicinity, and happen to have a nice bike with you, here's a list of MUST RIDE highways:
  • Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway.
  • Badlands Loop State Scenic Byway.
  • Vanocker Canyon / Nemo Road Scenic Drive.
  • Belle Fourche to Devils Tower Scenic Drive.
  • U.S. Highway 385 Scenic Drive.
  • Boulder Canyon Scenic Drive.
  • Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway.
Worth the trip (but wait 'till after the rally). Speaking of the Rally, if I never see (or hear) another damned Harley again, it'll be too soon!

Phil_M Just a humble iPhone 11. I do have better cameras (I even had one of them with me on that trip) but the truth is, I was just having too nice a time to be bothered with them (lightning should strike me for saying so, considering the dough I've put into them over the years). Still, the iPhone does respectably well and there's no arguing they're awfully handy too. I do run everything through Lightroom before I upload any shot--principally to crop and tune them up a tad. If you're interested, here's a link to my Flickr site where I post shots of my travels, my interests/hobbies and damn near anything else that presents itself: https://www.flickr.com/photos/rayfriedman/?

I remember them well.A big smooth bike.As big as it appeared it was only 2 inches wider than the 4 cylinder back then .You were riding around the rockys and I was street racing around the 5 boroughs of NYC on weeknights and road racing at Pocono Raceway on weekends (amateur series)
