Cable question:

more_vert
I just received my Elex headphones and I want to listen to them, but I only have my Oppo HA-2 headphone amp with me. The HA-2's outputs are 2.5mm TRS jacks, but the Elex doesn't come with that -- it comes with XLR to dual TS and 1/4in to dual TS cords that are marked left and right. I have a cable from my Mitchell and Johnson cans that goes 2.5mm TRS to dual 2.5mm TRS connections, and that isn't marked left and right because (apparently) it doesn't matter which cup you plug these into. The question is: Can I use this cable to connect my HA-2 to my Elex cups, or is the sound going to be off?

Thanks! I guess I didn't realize that the HA-2's output was 3.5mm (I have trouble telling 2.5 and 3.5 apart). FWIW, I tried the other cable and I realized pretty quickly that there was no stereo imaging. I'd love to understand how the Mitchell & Johnson's do have stereo imaging and the Elex don't under the same conditions, but I've reached my research limit and will go find an adapter!

I had a HA-2 before and it had a 3.5MM connection. Just go 3.5mm to 1/4-inch adapter
