Soooo many questions...…... "Panda".....… Not crazy about the name. This is supposed to be a serious product for serious audiophiles. That name is ok for a project code name but not for an actual product unless it's aimed at teenage girls. Please consider changing the name. Everybody may love pandas but they're a lot less crazy about telling others that they're wearing them when asked! "...….there's no DSP in Panda." Does this mean that there will be no accompanying software? There's no evidence of controls in the mock-ups. Will they have a touchpad? Based on what I've read, there's going to be no ANC. Is that correct? If so, I'm actually cool with that as I'm not a big fan of ANC anyway. The headphone looks are pretty basic. Nothing flashy about them in the least. This can be viewed as either a good or a bad thing depending on personal taste. Hopefully the graphics will be tasteful. Is this going to be the actual look of the product? I guess that it doesn't matter if the sonics are superior. Will there be a case included? (There better be!) Hopefully, these will be balanced capable? Please offer pad options. When you do the battery testing, please use dB level as your guideline. It's a more "real world" way to determine battery life. Determine what a reasonable safe listening volume is for the average person (70dB? +/-5dB) & use that to determine battery life. I don't care about the % of volume. That's all for now...…..

MaverickAHConsidering that the IEM hype has a name that stands for Believe, LetMusicBurn, Oppoty, NeverGiveUp, I think audiophiles don’t care about what the name of the product that they’re using is

Name Oh shit, our focus group for the name WAS full of teenage girls! How could we forget that audiophiles need to be old men!? Lol, the name stays, go chew some bamboo if you don't like it : ) Software Correct, there is no accompanying software with Panda. That said, we designed the firmware to be user upgradable. As some others have pointed out, the chipset does have DSP capabilities, we just have it turned off. This means if we see enough interest in an EQ app (or something like that) we could build it and all Panda users could upgrade. Controls Look more closely at the bottom right corner of the first two pics in our announcement post. On the back of the right earcup you'll see a control stick. This control stick houses all the controls for the headset. See the previous update we posted for more details on the control scheme, but it's all tactile and ergonomically placed. ANC Correct, there's no ANC. Given the passive isolation we achieved (more than the PM3, similar to pro headsets), we didn't want to compromise the sound by introducing ANC. As well, from an overall product perspective, this headphone is for enjoying music, not canceling noise. The passive isolation + AAA amp give you a dark background and plenty of juice to keep your music front and center. Looks Yup, that's the look, matte black on matte black. We'll likely do colorways in the future, black + white, 6XX blue, etc, but you can have any color you want as long as it's black at launch. That said, I think you'll find the design a bit more "flashy" when you see it on-head or in pictures comparing with other headphones. The silhouette and overall industrial design is svelte. Case Yes, these fold flat and will come with a case. Balanced Capable Not in this version. We may do a passive version in the future which would be wired balanced, but we opted to enable use with boom-mic cables instead of balanced cables for this version. Pad Options Yup, we designed this for easy pad swapping. Pads will be available in future, but no huge plans for a plethora of pads at launch. Battery We'll report it as a number of hours measured at the same db output standard as other major headsets use, but we'll also be able to report the DB level. TL;DR is that it's long enough to use for days without charging it and when you do need to charge, it charges fast. Thanks for your interest in Panda, keep the questions coming!

givemeyourshoesHah, sadly no. The case will be stylistically closer to the case that comes with the Bose 700. Our focus was to keep the package as small as possible so you can actually use it while traveling. The oppo case is nice, but it's really more of a display case IMO, thing takes up like half a briefcase.

MaverickAHI'm all for the name being 'Panda' and I'm no teenage girl - unless you're just trying to insult me. I think it's a fun name and I'd happily tell others about it so you shouldn't generalize everyone on your opinion because you like to be sweaty in your hobby. It's a lot like how there are several Artificial Intelligence models named after Sesame Street characters (e.g. "ELMo" from Allen Institute or "BERT" from Google) - turns a serious field into something not so intimidating, doesn't it?

MaverickAHPANDA = Pretentious Audiophiles Need Descriptive Acronym. ;) P.S: I don't want to take credit for this acronym, someone came up with it and I find it hilarious.
