Hd58x is awesome for gaming, i used audio Technica ad900x for years until i tried hd660s. I can pinpoint sounds so well with the 660s, i have the 58x now and can tell you its very similar as far as imaging. Ive tried alot of the best cans for gaming and i always use the hd660s or hd58x now. I'd say 9/10 cause nothing is perfect right? Theyre close. Now soundstage, the soundstage is very good on hd660s, hd58x, again these are similar 'phones all around. Soundstage isnt as huge as ad900x but it is certainly good enough. Imaging is whats important, you can wear em all day and pinpoint every sound. Forget about hd6xx, hd650 for gaming. They sound good but they aren't in the same league as the others. I'd say 6/10 imaging, just average. Soundstage is less as well but not by alot, again, that isn't as important. If you want an awesome all around headphone thats the best for gaming, get the hd58x, hd660s. I use hd660s on PC, hd58x on PS4. Use both with creative soundcards, x3 on ps4 pro, g5 on PC. Both headphones sound similar, near exact for games. The hd660s is slightly better for music but not alot and its kind of a thing where you gotta try em back to back to notice. From what I've seen most people agree with me as far as gaming on the hd660s/hd58x. Music opinions vary more. I much prefer the hd660s over the hd650/hd6xx, more detail, cleaner bass but more in your face. The hd6xx is smoother i guess according to most, i think it's just inferior to the hd58x/hd660s. Get the hd58x, I've used it back to back with many, many headphones. I haven't heard anything compare, its an advantage in games

Thanks yeah it’s safe to say that GSP 500 is much more weighed down due to more material to include the attached microphone.

Lou_BravoYeah i dont have a gsp500 here to compare but the gsp600 is significantly heavier than the 58x which are very light. Another thing since you brought up the mic- I have a modmic attached to my hd58x. Theyre very light but i did have dual cables running to my amp/pc but i ended up buying a real short cable for like $10 for the hd58x so i could place the splitter cable up higher towards the headset and then i only have 1 cable running most of the length instead of having the cables clipped together covered in a braided wrap. Makes it a little nicer, cleaner, easier to manage. You also have to consider that the 58x has cables coming off both sides instead of just the 1 cable like the gsp500. Just something to get used to, its no issue for me now.
