Delayed shipping common?

Placed an order for a HiFiMan 4XX and got an estimated ship date of 5-10-20 with a Product Run Live classification. Sent a follow-up to customer service, but response was an automated maybe we will get back to you in 5-7 days. Is this typical? How far behind are they and why no periodic update to shipping info? There is not even an easy way to cancel? What kind of experiences are the rest of you having?

Well, I did get an email that they were shipped yesterday from their international warehouse. Not too sure where that is, but they say in normally takes 3-4 weeks. Don't know if that is from yesterday or date of order and USPS does not have it in the system yet. Email from Amy at Drop was nice, and mentioned that I should let them know if I need to use the 30 day return policy. We will see in what condition they arrive in. I'm starting to think that purchasing directly from the manufacturer might be a better way to go in the future. Support should be better, even at the slightly higher price. I'm not giving up on Drop yet, but will see how this one plays out. I really wanted to attend Axpona and purchase there, but Covid 19 closed that one down. Didn't want to wait till next year for my 1st pair of Planers, so fired the canon early. Hoping for the best.

Mine are due to hit on Thursday. I returned the PM50 Andovers as they did not satisfy. It hurt as the build quality was top notch and the service seemed up there as well. Hopefully the Drop phones will work out.

Just showed up today and I am please with the sound quality. Much better than the Andover PM50s. Very nice.

Actually, paying for something and getting poor customer service does bring out negativity. In a lot of people.

I got a ship date of 5-20, however I put in the wrong address. I contact CS to fix the address, same response you got 5-7 days for a response, when thats after my ship date? I wish they had an easier form of contact, like an actual chat box.

A very opposite experience for me. I too ordered the HiFiMan 4XX. In fact, I am using them right now! My time with DROP has been wonderful. One thing for sure, this process cannot be rushed. Log in, sign up, browse, suggest, order, wait, receive. In fact one DAC I became a part of shipped way earlier than I was told! Its arriving this Monday, tomorrow. They will get back to you. The Covid-19 has put quite a strain on everyone. No need to cancel, just have some more patience is all. In the last 3 years I have been involved with Drop I have so much love for what they do. To make exclusive products that might have been done differently. To make products more affordable. It all takes lots of time from the Design to the Drop. Its a free service too.
