iFi audio launch TODAY on DROP exclusive CAN to maximise your Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones!
more_vert
We have been working hard to bring you an exciting new product which is our ZEN CAN Signature 6XX which is a custom version of our soon to be released ZEN CAN. This will initially be sold exclusively via Drop.com. Our ZEN CAN is a remarkably capable yet affordable desk-top size analogue headphone amp. The exclusive Signature version takes the concept further and includes a unique feature – an optional EQ circuit specifically designed to optimise performance with one of the most successful high-quality headphones on the market, the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX. This EQ circuit, called ActivEQ, calibrates the signal being amplified to complement the HD 6XX’s frequency response characteristics, thus tailoring performance to precisely fit the headphones like a made-to-measure suit. What’s more, it’s active design does this without adding the distortion commonly associated with passive equalisation circuits. With balanced circuit design incorporating high-end components and a range of flexible facilities including adjustable gain, the ZEN CAN Signature 6XX is a transcendent headphone amp at a down-to-earth price of $249. Any questions? Our dedicated iFi team are ready to answer any you may have!

Vince just wanted to also say how much I really like your Zen Blue product as well. It was the final price in the puzzle to allow me to put my shop system together. I have an old Peachtree IDecco that I put a pair of Elac Debut 6.2 V2. Sources are a 180 gig iPod Classic direct connected to the peachtree and my old iPhone X connected via the Zen Blue for all my streaming content. I have a HIBy R3 PRO but it doesn’t sound as good as my Apple work around.

what is the outcome if i dont pair this with the 6xx and the likes? should i get the standard zen can? any other difference beside the specific eq in comparison to the standard zen can that you will release? and when will it be the standard version(non drop version) be released? and is the zen can still be a good all-in-one stand alone option or does it need the pairing with the signature dac? Or will there be an extra model all-in-one dac/amp combo solution for desktop use? how good will zen can perform as dac? will it have the same flaus as the original zen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ahYapNMi14?

Hi Amboris Standard ZEN Can is lower in price but EQ curve is like the rest of the iFi range, suited for most headphones. And parts is not as premium as the Signature version. The standard ZEN Can is due out soon. No need to 'must' pair Dac Signature with Can Signature, just for optimium sonics and matching to certain Sennheiser headphones as per the compatibility chart. Thanks

Be interesting how it'll measure-up over at ASR. Amir will lay it out for all to see. If competes with lower cost Topping/JDS amps, Zen Amp will gain more interest. Knock on iFi products is their marketing can get a bit hyperbolic. Of course they are far from alone with that. Understandable to stimulate interest, but independent testing will reveal the truth. I'm cheering for iFi. Hope they pull off a coup for us bargain hunters.

Track you referenced doesn't do it for me regardless of gear used to play it back, but song sung by Sarah Vaughan in her prime - oh yes indeed, regardless of gear it's played on.

I reached out to Bucktown Cables to build a set of custom cables for your new units that match. 4.4 to 4.4 to connect the units and a HD6XX cable with a 4.4 mm any input on color from marketing to make everything pop!

So, would you say, I would be able to add this new product with my current ifi ZEN DAC? To use as combo?

Yep this certainly works out of the 4.4mm balanced out of the ZEN DAC. Check out also our upcoming ZEN DAC Signature, which will have upgraded premium parts over the current ZEN DAC (unlike the current ZEN DAC DAC-amp, we limited it to single DAC duty, to fit all the premium parts we wanted into the same chassis)

Aside from ActivEQ, are there any other advantages of getting this instead of the Zen DAC?

At this point in time (before the official release) I'd just point out that this is going to be a dedicated box for amplification taking up as much board space for this alone as DAC and amplification did in the ZEN DAC. You can bet that the amplification circuitry will be completely different and on another level 😁

Will there be a output switch? So I don’t have to unplug headphones to powered monitors.

I was actually told that the headphone out and pre-out can both function at the same time. Watch this space for confirmation...

It looks amazing and I'm sure it sounds amazing too, I have a couple of iFi products and its XBass function is the best Bass boost implementation I've ever heard on any product. You guys know how to equalize without altering the entire frequency range, I can't wait to get the Zen Can Signature for my HD6XX :)
