B1gdee05 Appreciate the link. Definitely not a watch for me; too small, and too run-of-the-mill from a design and features perspective. No idea what prompted or inspired its creation, save the possible exception of catering to the slender wrist crowd. I have nothing against those so afflicted, but I take exception to the few among them who insist all watches cater to their wrists. Functionally, it’s supposed to be a “Diver”. By design a diver should be oversized, not undersized—it needs to be read under water, in low light, and occasionally, where life and limb hang in the balance. While a 38mm watch might fit perfectly on a 14-year old girl’s wrist, and be read easily enough with her eyesight, it would serve no purpose on my “manly” 8 1/2” wrist, nor could I likely read the time with my equally manly, middle-aged-plus failing vision. To be blunt, in my opinion divers under 42mm are predominantly fashion watches whose manufacturers are merely hopping on the diver watch bandwagon (Rolex Submariners included). Feature-wise, and for $290, the Excition MKII seems to be an “also-ran” that’s easily beat by any number of offerings from my favorite high-value, low-price watch company: HEIMDALLR. Their watches use ceramic bezels, coated sapphire crystals, and preferable SEIKO movements (rather than Miyota). From a value perspective, many of Heimdallr’s best watches are priced WELL under two-hundred bucks, and are available TODAY, with none of the “maybes” and “here-today, gone-tomorrow” issues inherent with Kickstarter offerings. So, from my point of view, and speaking as a guy who owns a dozen or so SEIKO Divers, and at least 3 (maybe 4) Heimdallrs, I don’t see any reason to get excited about the Excition MKII. PS: did I mention I like Seikos too?
