TAKticalI can vouch for this statement.... I went through 3 K70 keyboards with MX Browns and 2 of them had 5 or more dead LEDs within 2-3weeks.
Corsair support were kind enough to reimburse my shipping fee's for both keyboards as they never gave me a pre-paid shipping label and shipping it to their service center isnt cheap especially if i have to send it there twice, both within the same month.
I ebayed the 3rd K70 when they sent me one back so I dont know if that one has dead LEDs too but it wouldnt surprise me if it did.
I got myself a ducky shine III now that had some dead LEDs but I RMA'd and its been grand for the last few months.
I find it hard to recommend corsair peripherals given the shoddy quality and thats a real shame as I originally had a K90 when it first appeared here in the UK and its been flawless. However I didnt like MX Reds so much and the keyboard was a little too long for my desk so it had to go. I had it about a year before I sold it to a friend & all LEDs still work perfectly And this is coming to 2-3years now. I had it for a year before i sold it to him.
TechnicolourCoatedKlingonAccording to some people the reason the LED's shorted out so much on the old keyboards was because of Electrostatic discharge. Supposedly corsair has fixed this issue on the new RGB models by actually integrating the LED's into the switches instead of putting the LED's on top of the switches where they are closer to your fingers.
