TomaCzarVotes are certainly an indicator of community interest, but they're only part of what needs to happen for a drop to become successful. For example, we need to talk with the vendor and see if they are open to working with us, negotiate the terms, and wait on getting enough stock to run a drop. All of these things take time and can keep a drop from being feasible.
Also, given the rarity of the #1 choice selected by the community, it seems unlikely that we would ever be able to collect enough to launch a drop. And although it got over 500 votes, my hunch is that not all of those people would actually buy it if they knew it retailed for over $700.
Don't get me wrong, we will continue to try and bring these products to the community. Just understand that it's a lot more complicated than getting 200 votes.
IanAnderson@IanAnderson ,
You're right, of course. It gets frustrating, however, when you see the third or fourth option in other polls (sometimes with less than 10 votes) get dropped and here is a poll with over 1k votes that's been up for close to a year.
Massdrop knows its own business, I'm sure you're giving everything its due consideration. It would be nice, however, to see an actual straight razor (not shavette, not safety razor) get thrown in there once in a while, even if it's not the #1 vote getter (*cough* Thiers-Issard 150 votes *cough*).
