For someone just starting the headphone hobby these are great classic headphones I own a pair of m220(very close to the same but white) and find them easy to listen too for long sessions. I also have higher end phones but these still hold there own in sound quality For the money they are a good listen!!

Stephen304I concur with sc2samuel. I got those 2 years ago. My previous ones were Sennheiser gaming headset. I got experience with Corsair/Razer/Logitech too. Never use a gaming headset anymore. Grab a clip mic for 10$ and you are ready to game!

sc2samuelThey have good imaging, nice mids and highs i enjoyed. They lack bass but, pair these with a Fiio e10k and flip that bass boost over and these get even better! You have to break these in for about 50 hours, at the start the treble was murdering my ears. Still have my k240's after getting the k7xx and fostex t50rp mk3.

FergyAlso, for anyone who has been gaming on mediocre headsets and intends to game with these, it's possible that you might feel like you didn't get what you expected. You may begin to notice the heavy compression of game audio effects, combined with the decreased 360º surround feeling.

Stephen304Hell yes, gaming headsets are awful, I've left them in the closet for good and use an antlion modmic with quality headphones, the modmic was the best purchase I've made in a long time. You may not get the simulate surround sound with these kinds of headphones, but you can still pinpoint locations, and for games with good sound production, you get great quality sound that gaming headsets can't duplicate. Although Sennheiser has a gaming headset that might be better than other gaming headsets, audio Technica has a good one as well, so as more audiophile companies jump in to the gaming headset business, my solution of a modmic might be unnecessary.

RedbaaronYes, but that's only because they're neutral, for games with good audio production, they will learn to appreciate this much more than before, as these kinds of headphones really expose bad audio in games. As for the surround effects, it's not as big a deal as I thought It'd be when I moved to audio headphones with a modmic over gaming headsets, I play rainbow six siege, and I can still pinpoint locations quite easily, and that games sound is messed up with locations and whatnot. I still recommend audio grade headphones over gaming headsets 100% of the time, it might be better to go with one that's not a flat signature however, slightly boosted loss and punchier highs might be a better bet for gaming,as flat like you said, expose games that have shoddy production.
