I love how often massdrop has drops on Akracing chairs and all. But I just wish Akracing would get there shit together already. I've researched these chairs extensively. Like most would do when their abort to drop $400-500 on a Damn chair. And from what I've researched most buyers are extremely disappointed once they do buy one. Either it's missing something in the box, a hole is in the leather, part of the chair isn't Symmetrical to the other side, or the damn thing is straight up destroyed when you receive it how many weeks after you buy it.
I get it quality control is hard hard as hell to fine tune to say 9-10% failure rate. But the thousands and thousands of stories about the horrible customer support and just plain old bad products sent to them. It really has began to create an image for the Akracing brand throughout the YT, and multiple Internet forums. And people can say I'm knit picking all they want but I'm not gonna spend 400-500 dollars on a CHAIR that isn't perfect or damn near close to it.
If you can't offer me a chair thats perfect, quality wise then I'll go somewhere else. Simple as that. It sucks because I did really like your chair designs but your quality control is an utter mess, customer service isn't help AT ALL, and if you need to get a replacement part sent to you. Your forced to wait MONTHS for it to get there and then back to you. Oh and of course when you send it back to them. Your forced to buy a specially designed box to put there most likely broken product in. Just so they can get it back. Seriously you have to not only pay the HUGE shipping fee but you have to buy a special damn cardboard box for the return parts.
Just insane the the amount of problems Akracing has. I don't care if you think I'm knit picking or not. I WON'T ever stand for nothing but perfection when I'm dropping $400-500 on a chair. You could get away with screwing me over if you sold the chairs for say $40-50, BUT you don't you sell them for a lot more.
I dont want this to seem like rant or anything. I'm simply trying to point out obvious quality control and customer service problems. So that you @Michael_AKRacingAmerica can tell your higher up execs to get there shit together. Or stop calling your brand the apittamy of quality on your website When you have tens of thousands of people that have been absolutely screwed by your company. In both wasting months of there life sending back and forth parts. And also wasting more money than the original price of the chair.
Absolutely unacceptable @AKRacingAmerica , and @Michael_AKRacingAmerica. Please get your shit together I want you to be the absolute best in the chair market Your nearly there just fix these glaring problems. Please we want you to succeed, because not only will you make more money but we will receive bomb ass products that'all blow the competition out of the water. Meaning both the customer and the company wins. Which is siply all I want for you and me, to both win in regards to chair quality.
If you don't believe the reasons I gave for @AKRacingAmerica 's problems for some odd reason. Then here are multiple links of people describing there issues.

Well good to here. I don't wish to plane bash AKRacing. But rather I want everyone who thinks of buying a chair of theirs to know what its really like. It's kinda bad to say but we as consumers need to be hesitant of any product every company sells us. Because if we don't were just as blind and dumb as they believe us to be.
AKRacing is one of the better ones because they aren't to big as of yet. But they will turn as all do. Hope the chair lasts for you, and you have great support from them.

Did they fix the armrests being different heights? Did they fix the plastic covers that are supposed to cover the hinges? Did they fix the Seat not being level, and the chair always tends to turn to one direction? I was so excited to get this chair for Christmas. The beautiful brown and black one. However the build quality was a horrible disappointment. My girlfriend payed like $460 for this chair, and THE BUILD QUALITY SUCKS.
Edit: P.S. When I lean forward, like to pick something up off the floor. The chair tips over. Sorry I have to give such a negative review, but it is unfortunately all true.

As it turned out, we did not start shipping yesterday, but you can see our guys are hard at work getting them all ready now. At this point we have 90% confidence that all of them will ship today. At the worst about 70% of them will ship today and the balance tomorrow.

A word of warning- this chair tips easily. Both my wife and I tipped it over within a week by sitting too close to the front edge. She ended up having the back of the chair hit her fairly hard on the head.

Gotcha! Can't say I've experienced that particular issue either but I can imagine it's surprising to fall forward on a chair. Got to see the 2018 lineup of AK Racing chairs at PAX and I'm super impressed! Michael was awesome!

DaelockYep, Michael is great and the new chairs are pretty awesome. They have some good improvements over the 2017 models and many of these upgrades are from ideas talked about right here in the Massdrop discussions.

We've had some issues with products being left and then somehow disappearing. Not a lot but enough to become cautions. So in certain situations we may require a signature. I know it's a bit of extra work but we don't want anymore problems and want to make sure you get your chair.

I purchased two of the *Arctica* chairs on the last drop a few weeks ago. These chairs are really great! They also arrived really quickly. I ordered them on the 16th of February and they arrived on the 28th.
My initial review is as follows: APPEARANCE AND FINISHES: The High Quality PU leather feels really soft and supple, and it has a nice, bright white finish. The stitching looks great as well, the seams are all intact, and the overall construction of the chair seems as though it wasn't rushed through and shoved out as fast as possible. There is definite attention to detail. I didn't notice this in the pictures when I ordered it, but there is actually a carbon fiber detail pattern on the sides of the inside of the chair, which looks really great! CHAIR MECHANICS AND ASSEMBLY: This chair was easy to assemble (the instructions COULD have been a little more clear since they were for assembly of the other premium chair models, but we figured it out easily enough). It took my husband and I probably 45 minutes to put one together, and even less time to put the second together since we already knew how to do it at that point. I wasn't missing any components, and there were tools included in the box to help put the chair together if you don't have tools handy. The lift function works as advertised, although you need to be off the chair to use it, and it goes back down smoothly and easily when you are sitting in it as well. The back can recline to 180 degrees flat, and you don't feel at all like you're going to tip over backwards. The arm rests go up and down smoothly, they turn in and out easily, slide forward and backwards as well, and click into place. COMFORT: I'd always heard that racing-style gaming chairs are kind of uncomfortable, but I have bucket seats in my car and find them really comfortable personally. This chair is no exception. I DO wish the seat was a little wider because I have wide hips, but I can still sit comfortably in the chair, it just might not be comfortable for someone larger.

Question for @AKRacingAmerica , I bought a DXRacer Drifting series right at about a year ago. The last month or two i have noticed that in the back of the seat where the stitching is the spring underneath has begun to push through the foam which is causing it to poke into my butt cheek. It becomes very painful after about an hour or two with myself waking up the next day sore. I tried to go through with DX Racer and get the chair replaced but after learning about the shipping fees and everything else that they try to screw you on i decided to just bide my time and get a new chair.
My question is have you had any issues like this come up with this chair and also how does your warranty work if there is a problem like this with the chair? It is frustrating and disheartening to spend 380 on a chair only to have it basically turn to a piece of junk metal after a year. I am looking for a chair to get me through the next few years.

man, massdrop has been "knock off dx-racer" heaven this last few months.
among other things, i find it funny how none of these brands do a tear down to show their supposed quality like dx racer does. you get what you pay for people, massdrop doesn't exactly change that.

cbtlrI have made it a career long policy never to talk about competing products. But let me say this...AKRacing has been in business since 2004 as a real seat manufacturing company. First in automotive sport seats then expanding to gaming and office chairs. We do all of our R&D and product development, testing and QC. We even design and tool our own our armrests, 5-star bases and mechanisms for most models. So, we control the full user experience to a degree most other companies can't or just don't.
We do not OEM or manufacture for anyone else, 100% of the production from our factories are for the AK brand. The only way to get an AKRacing chair is to buy an AKRacing branded chair. We are sure no one makes a better gaming chair--that is why we back it with a 5 year warranty for the chair and 10 years on the frame.

AKRacingAmericaI'll hand it to you - you guys do seem to be the first "we also make racing style gaming chairs" who seem to be putting out a product that is worthy of the price - something other than a cash grab which honestly can't be said for 8 out of 10 of the racing chair companies now putting stuff out.

Driver_PaI ordered this color as well. They call it brown. Seems more orange to me which would fit better with my wife's mid century plans. I hope it's more orange :)

springrubberIts a bit more brown than orange with the lights low. In a well lit room you'll be happy id guess. I think it's much more an adult color and the finish and materials are top notch!
