WigdaddyI know you're trying to be humorous but will make two points. First, branding and logos are a big part of gaming and racing. Have you seen a race car lately? And, second, we do have office series chairs that do not have such prominent branding. Those chairs are the Onyx and Onyx Deluxe, which Massdrop runs separately, the Obsidian which Massdrop runs with the Premium models, and the Opal which they run with the Core Series fabric models.
AKRacingAmericaHaven't seen a race car with just the one logo repeated three times on the front hood. ツ
But I do get that you're going for a specific aesthetic, and I think you've achieved it. Like you said, I was just trying to be humorous. Sorry if I touched a nerve. I love the design of your chairs.
Perfect. Than it should be easy to copy/paste your response from some other page into this page so @Rozoga knows the differences without searching for a random "discussion" group somewhere on Massdrop.
I just bought the MAX series - cheaper price point. But I am thinking about getting one of these as well, what is the main difference? I don't quite understand the rock and lock mechanism.
swolfalphaThe Max series is built for wider bodies and the Pro is built for taller bodies. The Max series has a flat seat bottom while the pro has a taller back and longer seat. The "Rock & Lock" is pretty cool as you can literally rock back in any position and lock the chair in that position. Most chairs can rock, recline, ect but cant lock in any specific position you want.
Is there an option to change Pro to Noob or trashcan? Once in a blue moon I am a pro but on most days I'm a trashcan player. I would like to have the option to change the logo. Thanks.
bogusdudeHey @bogusdude,
I'm about the same size as you (6'2" with 32") and this chair is great! I got to sit in it at PAX East and this thing rocks! I'm super tempted to join this drop now even though I already have a perfectly good AK Racing chair! If you go into my profile you can see a link to my Twitch where I live streamed the event, I did a decent review of the chair on last Saturday (vod is uploaded). @AKRacingAmerica also did a live fitting with us on Sunday so you can see the considerations there too! Hope you find this helpful!

How does the Pro match up with the player series chair? I've got an old yellow one that I _love_, but I find that I'd like some of the 4d options available with this chair.
No, the one at Micro Center does not have rock and lock. It has a standard mechanism that does not support that feature. It also does not have perforated PU leather or 4D armrests. It is based on an older version of this chair. This is our new 2018 model.
You are correct. The one at Micro Center does not have that and there are not different versions at different stores. The other poster is mistaken and may not understand what that feature is. There is a ton of confusion about that here in these discussion groups. I have posted multiple times to explain but still many people are not clear.
DisquietI have used both. Before I had the DXRacer iron series chair. Now I am using this chair. Hands down it's a better build quality and more comfortable than the DXRacer. AKRacing uses a far premium cold moulded foam than the standard type foam that is used in the DXRacer chairs. There is a lot more of it making it more supportive and more comfortable. The PU leather is also a much higher grade and on this model is also breathable so you stay cooler. All in all you will not see me sitting in a DXRacer chair again.
