Is the ODAC really that much better? I'm thinking of getting a DAC to upgrade away from my EMU 1212m (which is PCI and is kind of a PITA).

Jim3535Not really. Obviously it's a matter of opinion, but they are very comparable given the price difference.

Jim3535It depends on what you want. The ODAC is completely neutral. The Aune T1's DAC is colored by the tube. So, you have to decide if you want your headphones to influence the sound or if you want distortion from the tube. Do you want to hear music how it was meant to be heard?
The ODAC/O2 is a lot of money, even separately, but you will not need to upgrade it ever unless you want $1500+ headphones.
