Same exact manfoline on Amazon for way less. $31.58 free shipping with prime. Comes with the same purple plastic case. Same exact dimensions. This must be a mistake doing the listings. This drop is a joke.
While the Benriner mandolines are very well regarded for slicing jobs (the included julienne/shredding blades are less well regarded unfortunately) the price of this drop is just terrible. Far cheaper at Amazon:

But I'd suggest you skip this older model and it's dinky little collection tray and go for the newer pro model which is designed to be able to sit over (potentially much larger) bowls you already own:

Or get the next size up (the models above are the smaller versions with quite narrow cutting widths):

Sorry to poop on a drop like this, but there are over 40 sellers on Amazon for this product and hardly any of them are this expensive!
JaggiThis price is not the worst, but it could be better.
I came looking for the wider one, the Super Benriner, but it appears that that model has also been obsoleted, and replaced
by the BN95A.
I have a few of these veggie slicers. They are an essential tool in any kitchen. I have owned a more expensive and complicated mandoline but it was not as easy to use and clean as this one. You do need to mind your fingers, my rule is to stop slicing when my finger is about a 1/2” from the blade. My daughter is a professional chef, she gave me my first one about 10 years ago and I still use it at home (bought a new replacement straight blade 4 years ago ). If you don’t care much about the tray, you can get these for about $24 on Jeff’s world domination site.
RayFThe only real downside is that Benriners don't have the wavy blades you need to make Gaufrettes (aka waffle fries/crosscut fries.)
And previously they only had the narrower sizes, but they've remedied this with the Jumbo range.
I'd advise to get the wider ones if you're in the market for a mandoline, it's not that much more expensive, and you'll be able to get larger potatoes and stuff sliced without having to trim it down.
