Product Description
The Mollusk, a collaboration between Boker and CountyComm, is almost more blade than it is handle—which isn’t a bad thing. In fact, thanks to the C-shaped blade, you get even more edge than you would with a typical folder Read More

Perhaps my favorite EDC
A little EDC strong and sharp, the lock is good and it’s nice to have in hand for daily use

Great little social knife
Quality of this knife is great, fits into coin pockets. It is really light and in conjunction with the blade size and style (sheepfoot?) Means that no one will be intimidated by it. It opens smooth and locks up solidly. Great little knife. Only downside is that because it is a sheepfoot and not a Wharncliffe, it does not pierce well (as to be expected) so if you need to do lots of piercing work, maybe this knife is not for you. Small prying jobs it is great though! Superb social knife! Update: so the low saber grind means that, with the factory edge, it's not a great slicer because it's kind of thick behind the edge, but if you put a more aggressive edge on it it preformes much better.

Disappointing quality
I like the knife. The design is great. All the problems I have with it, I can overlook. However, these issues do make me reconsider ever buying from drop again. For starters the blade centering is awful and there is no way to correct it. The biggest issues I have is that there were several obvious scratches on the carbon fiber, some of which I could feel with my thumb. The knife itself is sharp and solid, but these quality issues are disappointing.

Really too small to be practical for me.
Knife is tiny, too tiny to make it worthwhile to carry, I find it comical that there is a carry clip on it! I bought it because I’m a Boker Carbon Fiber Fan! So no worries it went into the drawer and the Mollusk went into the carry pouch!

New everyday go-to
I was really impressed with the look and feel of this knife. The marbled carbon fiber delivers a sophisticated look on a light-weight material that I prefer to the usual "weave" motif hands-down. Both the CF front and Titanium back are handsome, stiff and balanced. The knife feels warm and comfortable to hold, and is light enough that I forget it's in my pocket. Initially, I thought it would be hard to hold and use -- the blade is short-edged and tall, almost square in profile. But that extra blade height makes it very natural to pinch the blade and use it almost like a razor, which has been invaluable in an EDC knife commonly used for small tasks. I found myself grabbing it more and more, and it's quickly become a favorite in my EDC rotation -- previously dominated by similarly-small knives the Spyderco Dragonfy and Spyderco Chapparal.

Pretty little knife
Looks better in reality than in the pictures. The construction quality is good but not perfect. Nice carbon and titanium, but the D2 steel will rust if you wont take good care of it. i mean it will really get rust if you treat it like other stainless steel.

Nice knife but
Unfortunately there were two pretty good scratches on the carbon fiber that I wasn't pleased with, but other than that I happy with my purchase.

I'm Happy With This Purchase
I felt like I knew what I was getting, and it turned out that I did. The only thing that surprised me a little is how funky the "knife pouch" that it came in is. I suppose I can find a use for it though, but either way, I bought the knife, not the pouch, so I didn't deduct any stars for that. The knife is perfect for what I bought it for. I wanted something small but stout. I wanted something I could clip into my "around the house" shorts pockets without it being heavy enough to start making them sag on one side, as well as something that would serve as EDC in my jeans pockets. Yes, the knife is very small, but since my knives are not used for self defense, small is great for breaking down boxes and other general, light-duty tasks. The thing came out of the package as sharp as any new knife I've ever opened before. The blade has a semi-gloss polish from the primary grind/bevel line to the cutting edge, as well as the entirety of the swedge. Above the primary bevel line is stone wash finish. When I first got it (around a week ago), lock-up could only be achieved by opening the knife with two hands and really slamming the blade into the locked position. Could not make it lock-up by opening with my thumb against the rectangular hole at the top of the blade. Also couldn't make it lock-up from that position without nearly closing it all the way and employing my other hand to attain slamming speed. When I sat down to do this Review though, I tried one last time to open the normal one-handed method before I deducted (at least) one star, and it opened and achieved lock-up without any extra effort or movement than what I would use to open any other frame lock or liner lock. Played with it several more times to make sure it wasn't an anomaly that it locked the first time (today), and it locked-up every time I tried it. For this particular knife, reliable lock-up only came after a ~week-long break-in period. I would've liked the Ti side of the handle to be more decorative, like polished, or maybe some flamed colors thrown in, but I knew ahead of time it had none of that so I wasn't disappointed as much as just wishful. The "marbled" carbon fiber doesn't do anything for me, except to say that it is very light-weight, and that's always a good thing. I'm completely neutral on the looks of it though. If it matters to anybody, I got #513 out of the initial run of 600. Build quality and/or strength will reveal themselves as time goes by, but I expect that in the end, I'll be giving both high marks. Have cut down several boxes already and cutting edge is superior. Otherwise, I haven't used it enough yet to evaluate for any other cutting tasks. While breaking down boxes, the small choil can get in the way if the knife isn't starting the cut from close to the apex of the belly's radius. Got hung up on the choil a few times before I got in the habit of avoiding it. That's about it. Glad to answer any questions anyone might have. Everybody stay safe. It's a jungle out there.... BlueTomUpload two or three, or better yet, seven or eight simple cell-phone pics of the knife, and I'd call this the best, most informative and helpful knife review I'd ever seen. Even without the pics it's a contender. Thanks for taking the time.p

HatuletohHey, I tried to upload pics a few days ago but they didn't take. Probably too big. I didn't have time to resample them, so I'll try to do that on this reply and if they don't take after resampling, and if I think about it, I'll do it sometime soon. Thanks for the review of my review though. Appreciate it.
