I really don't understand the choice to market a hot swap keyboard but not offer the option of getting it without switches so we can actually make use of the swappability without wasting a bunch of switches that we don't want to use...

certainly, that's a fair point - i'm not wasting all that much money on parts that i won't use, but in an ideal world i'd still rather not end up with a set of unwanted switches/caps in the first place

As far as shipping costs from like China to US, I've heard it is much more expensive for a company like drop to order keyboard parts than a fully assembled keyboard as they put taxes on each individual part in a keyboard instead of just one flat fee for a pre-built keyboard.
This looks just like a Keychron.

IronSunsetscalesApparently it is 5-pin. (Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/lpagkt/kt87_budget_tkl_crazy_bang_for_100_bucks/goa9ex9?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) You can see by the pictures they are north facing LEDs. The source above also cites them as north facing. The person claims their isn't an issue with cherry profile, but they are using their FL.CMMK switches which have a pretty short 3.3mm total travel distance, so YMMV on switches that will and won't cause interference. I expect any switch with a 4.0mm travel (nearly all gat switches) will see problems.
MehoronThank you for this info! I think that @SpencerL could use this info to add to the page? That'd be neat!

Is there any more information on the FL.CMMK switches besides the ZFrontier posting?

Mojo3354It looks like it has a shorter travel time than HPs at 3.3mm vs HPs 3.8. So not exactly a clone. With such a short travel it looks like with those switches you won't get any interference with cherry caps.
