My favorite tactical style belt buckle
This belt goes on and comes off easier and faster than any other style, including the quick detach hook-style buckle that they also offer. Unless you are trying to use it with belt loops that are narrower than the belt itself, this belt slides through the belt loops with ease, even the double thick version does. A light forward push on the tension bar allows this buckle to slide free very easily. If you remove the half-buckle from the free end of this belt, then you will have no problem threading the belt through your belt loops, duh. To remove this belt quickly...unlatch the magnet and pull the buckle apart with both hands, and with one hand (my right) lightly push the tension bar forward with the thumb while simultaneously pulling the half-buckle completely off of the free end of the belt, then simply use the opposite hand (my left) to pull the free end through the loops and away from the body as soon as the half-buckle is free, then attach the magnetic buckle parts together again and put the belt away. I'm going to buy another one and my wife wants one for our son too.

Works as designed. Great execution. Opens and closes with one hand. My favourite belt right now.

Thanks for asking. I am sorry to report that I am extremely unhappy with this purchase. Based on my experience and apparently a number of other raters/commenters I do not believe these belts were made to be used threaded thru belt loops to hold up the pants that most of us actually wear. I actually tried to use them with military spec combat pants (tactical enough for you?) and they did not fit those loops either. No mention was made in the overview for the drop of the potential for this issue which Massdorp should have been aware of if you had tried to use them with your pants. Since the issue seems to have hit many of us Massdrop should take returns for at least a credit if not cash. R

robar1I want to be fair to this belt by reporting that I this morning observed a security guard wearing his tactical belt outside all his other clothing. On this morning's mission it had no responsibilities for his pants. I think we may be expecting too much from this "tactical" belt from MD. Perhaps it is more loosely "strategic"? R

The buckle work amazingly well. I love it. Wish there're a easier way to take the belt off the pant's belt loop tho.

At first I wasnt sure about this belt and the way it goes together. But after trying it out and wearing it everyday for about a month I LOVE it! Super convenient, stays tight, and un-buckles easily. Yes, you do have to remove one end to put the belt on a pair of pants. It literally takes 3 seconds. And after that you dont have to mess with it all day unless you are constantly changing your pants all day.

Solid in theory, design, and in-flight use but as others have stated donning and doffing the belt are much more difficult than any belt should be. Once it’s on and you’re using it during the day it’s a great belt. You can really dial in a comfortable fit and adjust on the fly, and it is super easy to unlatch one handed- great for quick pitstops. If you’ve got a pair of pants that you want to leave a belt in and have the quick deployment this is the belt for you. The scenario I see as the perfect use for this belt is for a pair of pants you want to leave on the floor for if you had to quickly put them on- say if you’re an emergency responder.
I also give this belt 4/5 for use as a gun belt- sturdy enough to keep a holster in place but not so rigid it cuts into your hips.

This is a stupid belt. It's a bad design that doesn't allow either end of the belt to pass through the pant's belt loops without removing one of the buckle ends. The belt material itself is nice and sturdy, but also thick enough that removing and replacing a buckle end is an onerous chore. I never use this belt and should probably just get rid of it. I feel stupid for buying it in the first place.

Solid, thick. But the bar holding the RH side in place has a tendency to slip to slightly less pressure than I prefer in a belt. Also it's a little awkward re-threading it every time I take it on or off, as the magnetic head doesn't fit through any belt loops but that's a minor inconvenience.
