I've come from a cheap Cooler master MX Brown.
I've been using the Code for 3 years now, Crystal MX.
The keys feel scratchy and wobbly.
The shift key broke (can't seem to handle the pressure needed for MX Crystal when using macros?)
Picked up my old CM brown and my fingers were so happy. Yes it is too light but feels more sturdy and smoother.
The Codes light is good.
I really hate the costar stabilizers on these keyboard. They are super noisy, a huge pain to get on and off, very fragile and easy to break, and incomparable with some dampening options.
The USB chipset seems to work better than many competitors and the PS/2 support is really nice.
In the end, I replaced this with a Drop brand keyboard.
I love love LOVE this keyboard. Premium quality. Heavy backplate. Easily user-fixable and doing so DOESN'T void your warranty! Not that you'll want to warranty it, because it's easier and less stressful to just order the individual parts you need and install them yourself.
I tripped over the cable one day. Destroyed the usb jack (and one of the keycaps). I contacted the manufacturer and they let me order the replacement USB jack board, as well as the specific key cap, for just a few bucks. I asked if that would void the warranty since I'm replacing them myself and they said NO. Utterly fantastic customer service every step of the way.
I have 2 right now. One at work, which uses the clear switches for a heavier actuation force (I'm a heavy typist) and one at home that uses brown, that I use for light gaming. I'm setting up a new workstation to do some work at home, and when it's fully ready for use, I will be buying a third keyboard, again with clear switches.
It's been a while and I can say that, if and when I need another mechanical keyboard, I will be buying this again. Absolutely as advertised and no flaws that I've found yet.
This was my favorite mechanical when I had only tried a Corsair. 2 years and several keyboards later, it was the first one I’ve sold.
Reasons for my rating:
The backplate creates an annoying sound, no matter what switches you use.
I had LEDs go out within the first week of using this board.
The included keycaps and keycap puller are prone to wear and tear.
This is literally my first and only Mech Keyboard, so I doubt my opinion is super valid to those in the "know", however this KB is absolutely why I do not have a collection. This is perfect for me as a developer to type on for any use. The Cherry MX switches are good - I have the clicky ones (Blues or Browns? maybe?) When anyone comes to my house for a youtube jam sesh they always love the keyboard - it looks sexy and has a good hefty weight to it. I don't own any more at the time, however I know that there are some more expensive cooler boards out there but this one for the price is really something special.
