Sleek without being showy, the Das 4 Ultimate has earned rave reviews for its excellent build quality, its versatility, and its remarkable ability to quickly process keystrokes. “An absolute joy,” Techradar says Read More
I took this bitch apart to spray paint the cover candy apple red and it came out looking GORGEOUS cept I snapped the fuggin' PCB while trying to put the chip wired for the volume knob back in place as for some reason it was IMPOSSIBUR to put back together. Moral of the story kids: Das one keyboard daddy FUKDUP and tossed on his pile of random pc parts. Ahhh, pcmasterraceworld problems.
Can anyone comment on how this stacks up against the Code Keyboard? I currently have it with the MX Clears but I'm not too sure just yet if I want to jump the gun on this for the office.
I own this keyboard and it's quite well constructed. Big selling point is that it has two additional USB ports perfect for phone charging or plugging in a controller.
The ONLY downside to this keyboard is the key caps. They get shiny very fast on the ultimate and the legends wear of quickly on the professional. They need to release key sets that are PBT blank and PBT doubleshot.
I bought these PBT caps for my Ultimate: http://www.geekkeys.com/geekkeys-black-blank-thick-pbt-full-keyset/
They are Cherry profile so not an exact match, but I love them. The Ultimate already felt solid, but with these thick caps it feels even more substantial.
The only negative was that several of the keys had some noticeable white residue (I was pissed). However wiping them down with a cloth dampened with a VERY small amount of silicone spray (think armorall conditioner) and they look terrific now. Deep black.
