Dekoni Balanced 4-Pin XLR Cable for Sennheiser HD 8XX
This headphone appears to have been made from spare-parts and given a coat of blue paint.
With a significantly higher release price than the previous (and similar-looking) HIFIMAN collaboration (the HE-R7DX), its unique drivers and overall performance had better offer something truly special...
Or I don't expect it will sell well at all.
low_rezYeah not sure why Dekoni insist on making blue headphones..... I mean I like blue but I feel like there are better ways to do it. For example black or white base with blue accent or something. I even thought R7DX looked good and it's almost exactly the same design but just "normal" color.
I am in the targeted demographic where I am looking for a closed back in this price range. But not fan of the looks also lack of review so I don't know how it sounds, might wait on it a bit.....
InvisibleInkI had $65 in drop points and these are $500 on the website, so I snagged a pair. They do look ultra comfortable and do come with an extra set of pads. The topology drivers in the higher end models are actually pretty legit, how much of downgrade these are…. I guess we’ll see. But even if they get us 85% to the $1299 R10’s it might be worth it. I watched YouTube, there was quite a stark differences in opinions, one thing was abundantly clear, everyone aid they’re comfortable. Sound is always subjective and it seamed people either liked it or were meh about it. However, I haven’t actually seen anyone completely knock it either. Picked one up for $335.
The Hifiman Sundara closed back are available at $399 and feature a planar magnetic driver. This dekoni dynamic driver version is trying to compete with that??
The Final Audio Sonorous III is a nice closed back unit that is very underrated. Hard to find reviews on them. I have a pair of those also. Very comfy and lighter than the Sundara closed back. Very good sound stage, good bass - not booming, but tight. Mids and trebles are very good also. Of course, this is simply my opinion. 😃. $347 on Amazon right now (reg price $399).
Cheers!
4macOh I've read about them a long time ago but I'm surprised you find them comfy, every review I read are basically saying good sound terrible comfort LOL. I don't believe it's on sale in Canadian Amazon but I'll look into it again, thanks!
$399, so this is basically trying to replicate the success of the TH-X00 headphones. So it need at least sound better than TH-X00 lol.
Time to look up reviews/impressions.
Though if we're talking strictly about physical looks then I think TH-X00 is winning........
Uh oh... Drop didn't provide all the important information necessary to keep the whiners at bay... You'd think they would have learned by now. ...or maybe that's the game: get the usual knee-jerk whiners whining. That's one way to get the conversation started anyway.
At Frequency Response: 40Hz-20kHz? These numbers for these headphones tell me that the bass response is not that good. I'm looking for 20Hz - 40kHz. What makes these Hi Fidelity headphones, especially for this price?
The music I listen to has a lot of bass sound (Sythwave, Trance, House and Jazz). Speakers or headphones that can handle the lower frequencies usually have good bass sound from my experience. The reviews that I've seen for these headphones, elude to the fact that they are light on bass. There is nothing wrong with that. It's all a matter of preference.
