Perhaps the most interesting innovation in our CSTM80 Mechanical Keyboard is the decorative top case, which can be easily interchanged and magnetically attached for different looks. In this run, we’re testing its metal—by making it metal. Available here are two new aluminum top cases: one in silver, and one in black. Both have been sandblasted at an ultra-fine 220-grit level for satin finish not unlike that found on today’s MacBook Pros. Beyond the premium look, these aluminum top cases add a bit of extra weight to the CSTM80, making for a heftier typing experience that’s more than earned its metal.
