Does the keyboard reset to the rainbow effect when your computer is shutdown or just when you unplug the keyboard entirely?

owend19It depends on if your USB ports still pull power while the computer is shut off (I believe most modern ports do).
The other thing of course, is using the configurator to program the LEDs exactly how you'd like (https://www.massdrop.com/mechanical-keyboards/configurator/preset/ctrl--default). That will prevent color resets etc even when you take keyboard somewhere else to use
