Damn...... bad timing, was headphone shopping a while back and was considering the Aeon RT Closed, Focal Elegia, and Audio Technica ATH-WP900. In the end I end up getting the ATH-WP900 and wasn't impressed and end up returned it and getting new dac/amp instead. Now I'm broke LOL. Maybe I'll wait for next round.

Meest3rLOL my heart can't take another disappointment after Audio Technica ATH-WP900 ($1000 CAD) which I thought was just different than my current headphone Denon AH-D2000 ($300 CAD), but technicality / resolution wise they're about on par. I'll come back to headphone again at a later time. :P

Meest3rTo be honest I actually quite like how D2000 sounds just wish it's a bit warmer and more organic timbre (currently it's a bit cold / metallic). But right now I like how D2000 is airy and wide and has that bottomless sub bass and sparkly treble. Decent for string instruments and female vocal but that's one area it could be better. My music genre is a lot of female acoustic (guitar, violin, piano) / rock (snare drum, kick drum, guitar riffs) / pop (sub bass hits). LOL to be honest I find when I list it like that it sounds like I want everything so it's always hard to figure out what exactly that I want. I was wondering if TH610 / D5200 would be a direct upgrade, or if I should just save up for TH900 / D9200. Headphones I've tried and it's been just "different" than "upgrade": TH-X00 Mahogany - to be honest I like the timbre and tonal balance of this headphone but just sound congested. TR-X00 Ebony - too cold and sterile, good imaging though. E-Mu Teak - female vocal sound too distant, sound stage is wide but imaging is blurry. LOL as you can see I've been a Denon / Fostex fan. Though looking back I think Aeon would probably fall under the same neutral sounding can. EDIT: Oh someone also suggested I try T50RP MK3 Argon / T60RP Argon but MK3 Argon are kind of dark (I like treble) and T60RP Argon has less bass so I'm not too sure yet. Headphone shopping is hard LOL.

HydeIndeed I see.. denon and fostex.. never tried those😂 i have tried a lot.. (tried= buy and resell) there are literally no headphones which fulfills my personal preferences. although each headphone got their own specifics or characteristics.. im and still in a journey and I believe it’s like the same to you

Meest3rYeah I've been wondering about that too, it's always been different trade off. You gain some lose some. My friend is saying I should just shoot for flagship and be done with. But I feel like there might still be preference differences between each flagship, still won't be perfect in every way. So what's your current headphone and what kind of sound are you looking for? And price range?
