Not much to say other than a great soft yellow set of caps. Slight shade difference. between mods and alphas which i appreciate, very smooth and pretty thick.
Gorgeous coloring and legends, not for everyone, but really shines on specific builds. The Yummy Mods are some of my favorite keycaps I've gotten in a while.
I was finally able to use these on a keyboard, and I wish I had tried them sooner. I didn't realize the mods were a different color, I'm not sure if they are supposed to be. The keycap sizes are inconsistent. The space bar is twisted and barely fit on the keyboard. The legends are fuzzy. I've built a fair number of keyboards and used many different keycap brands, for now I'll stick with GMK and ePBT.
e: the legends are actually not fuzzy at all, not sure what I was thinking.
I am a huge fan of this set; I thoroughly enjoy the look and feel. One of the big upsides to this set is that they provide keys for a variety of non-traditional layouts, like for a split keyboard. The yummy mod keys add to the fun and breakup the monotony of the standard mod key symbols/words. I also like that there are two options for homing keys, the little raised dash or having scooped keys (I went with the scooped).
As for the “ate” key, I know some people are not a fan; for me every time I look at it I sing the “Apples and Bananas” song in my head (so that’s a win).
I waited forever for the Yummy Mods to come back, and I'm not disappointed!
My first DCD set.
A good PBT feel. The caps are not as wide as most keycaps (like another user mentioned), and you can see this when it sits in a keycap storage tray. Not sure how I feel about that yet as I don't have a free board for them at the moment.
The only real downside as far as I can see is the "ate" key as other users have mentioned in the discussions. I'll never not notice it now, but at least it's a proper substitute for alt, even if it is the only past-tense word.
First, I think there is a minor sizing issue with the width of the caps. It's as if the base is just a hair narrower than normal which results in the gap between the caps being a little wider than normal. But it's not really an issue.
Over all, the caps are good. Smooth surface, clean legends, consistent color, and they definitely are fun for the novelty. Just, apparently the slices caps can trigger trypophobia. So, careful who you might scare with them?
