Just gotta keep telling myself it's best I missed this drop and I'm better off waiting for the high profile version. Sadly with the delays seen here, it looks like we probably won't see one until late 2021. Plenty of time to save up for another 1800 that can meet my needs sooner.

DEADicationI'm curious what other 1800 form factor keyboards you (or anyone else) has found out there?

HangOk, high profile it seems. Aluminum as well. Thank you. I personally like the low profile of this keyboard (as I am currently using a Corsair K70 and have enjoyed that design for years)

HeyBuferdMost high end enthusiast boards are high profile. Only the lower end mainstream stuff like Corsair or Logitech and in this case Drop use this low profile design. 1800 layouts are out there if you know where to look.

HangI read that in an elitists voice and laughed. I actually did not know that the high profile was mainly used that way. Interesting because it reminds of the older IBM model M types. I really like the low profile look. It's minimal, easy to clean. I am a little picky on those though, because the deck really needs to be aluminum or some metal. Plastic feels too cheap for a nice keyboard.

Hangto me, listening to all the typing tests, the high profile keyboard seems less pingy rather than low profiles. correct me if i'm wrong.

karuwannabuystuffWould make sense, since the acoustics would be baffled by the raised sides.

HeyBuferdMy daily driver at work is a Cherry G80-1800, which I hate because of the MX Black switches, I O-ring dampened them but I still get told to mute my mic on conference calls. I could part with it and not lose sleep.

HeyBuferdI just finished building a TKC1800 for my brother in law. It's a decent enough board and not super expensive, but it very much is made up entirely of plastic... and I know the new hotness is "south facing" switches, but IMO that's a dumb trend given it completely throws backlit legends out the window unless someone starts making decent side legend shine through keycaps I guess.. Turning the switch around seems like the laziest "fix" to the issue they're trying to address and it creates its own issues in the process.
