Was looking into more premium keyboards after using Razer, Logitech and Ducky boards. Im glad I went for this one because it feel premium and has a clean look to compliment my desk. Pretty good build out of the box but you can definitely customize it to suit your needs.
Fantastic keyboard! (After lubing switches and changing stabilizers).
I love the high profile design and layout that includes arrow keys. The color and finish of the case is amazing and honestly a primary reason why I chose this "Icon" version of the ALT, but the keycaps also drew me to it as well.
At the time of buying this, there was no barebones kit that included this gorgeous space/dark grey color, hence this being my choice.
My only cons would be the stabilizers really need to be changed and the power needed for this thing is far more than most boards. So much so that these boards are specifically mentioned as a warning from coiled cable makers to consider cable length. It created a challenge for me using a KVM switch too so I eventually got one that was powered to give the board the power it requires. If the total connection length is too long the keyboard might still work, but LEDs won't and will remain off.
(PLEASE consider your setup and what connection length you'll have)
RGB is pretty good with some nice built-in configurations, but I specifically wanted this board for the side lighting and it's a little disappointing. The LED array is pretty spaced out and the diffusion is not good so you can clearly see individual LEDs.
I had dealt with prebuilt stuff like Razer keyboards for a while, but really wanted to jump into custom mechanical keyboards. I did a bunch of research learning the hobby, but got stuck with the impatience of delivery times for parts, etc. I was happy to see a package like this existed that offered all the same concepts and similar customizability for what mattered to me;
-Hotswap board for trying different switches
-Some RGB lighting so I can follow my desk theme
-Minimalism and great build quality
I bought it for my girlfriend for her birthday. I was really anxious before I gave it to her because she is not a geek and was not into keyboards. But when she saw the keyboard she immediately liked it! she loves the Bauhaus look and the RGB lightning, and now all day long I hear her clickity-clack!
This was my intro to mech keyboards. Aside from it coming with tactile switches I wouldn't change a thing. I swapped out for NK creams and love it. Keycaps feel amazing and adds a ton of character to the setup. You wont regret it
This keyboard and keycap set looks phenomenal together. Keyboard types great with lubed Pink box silents. No issues whatsoever, happy with my purchase.
Solid hefty keyboard. But a very clean professional looking board. The switches lean on the heavier touch, but that is the intention of the switch designer so there is no need to bottom out when depressing the keys. The Canvas XDA profile is really nice to feel on the finger tips.
Really, really enjoying this keyboard and the switches feel great. I love the weight and look of the darker case on this compared to standard ALT. Everything just feels great on this keyboard from its weight, to its keycaps and switches.
Update: After lubing halo trues, changing stabs, and adding stupidfish foam this keyboard is great. I use this keyboard at work now and am really happy.
I would give this 5/5, but I need to replace the stabs.
The only one that doesn't suck is my enter, but I'm just going to change them all. I have only used linear and speed linear switches, so I wanted a tactile keyboard. This is a nice option.
Key caps: I personally like. The extra colored keys are nice.
Halo Ture switches: Pleasantly surprised. I like them a lot. The tactile bump is subtle which is what I wanted. I will lube them for the hell of it, but I could live with them not being lubed.
RGB: Looks nicer then you'd think. Yes the side RBG doesn't look great, but it is fine
Case: Heavy and I love the color. I'm a fan of high profile, but if you are on the fence avoid high profile
I have no technical issues. I would not recommend to a friend cause they'd need to change the stabs
