Overall good headphone and the best wireless you can buy for the price (that I know of).
TLDR Short version:
  • Midcentric sound
  • Very good detail/ resolution
  • Bass is tight and punchy
  • Soundstage is not horrible but nothing special either
  • Comfortable
  • Good controls
  • Well package / nice presentation
Longer version: I listened via Bluetooth and wired, they sound almost exactly the same which is great! Pros: Nice design and build, good overall sound and comfortable to wear (for me). Cons: Soundstage The soundstage is a bit shallow and even though the resolution is great, it takes away from the sound being fantastic. Maybe EQ will help. All that said, you won’t really find much, if anything better that is wireless in this price range. If you cannot afford the risk on these, I totally suggest the Hifi Man He-4XX. They are my go too headphones and sound soooo great!

marckbrunoSoundstage and bass kinda sound like closed-back headphones, ya know?

MotorradI understand the limitations but Im sure you’ve heard the ATH-M50 BTs before. Closed back and better soundstage and bass IMO.
marckbrunoJokes aside I'm curious to hear what you're experiencing around the bass when you say "it's weird with some songs" Can you describe what's weird there?

Will😂 Don’t worry. I still think these are better overall and like I mentioned in my review, the best I think you can buy for the money. Still, you have to admit that what I’m saying isn’t false. In fact, let’s look at this completely objectively. Pandas:
  • Better materials
  • MUCH better controls
  • Much louder and overall better resolution and detail
  • Better packaging and presentation
  • Higher cost
ATH M50s
  • Better soundstage
  • Lower cost
Disagree?

WillMaybe I can try and find a way to record it (with good enough fidelity) and send it your way or send you the tracks I’m experiencing it on. Whichever you prefer.
marckbrunoYe send me the tracks, I ask because Panda has the lowest bass distortion and most consistent phase presentation of any powered headphone, so it may be that what you're describing as "weirdness" is something new you're noticing.

WillYou may be right! I will email the tracks to you and you can check them out for yourself. Thanks for the feedback!
marckbrunoYea... M50s have an important place in the audiophile progression, but it's not something I recommend to friends anymore. The sound-stage is wide for the price range, but it doesn't have much depth or detail. I can tell where something is, not how far away, so it's hard to have a cohesive experience. It's solid for movies and games, where you have this visual to line up the width, but budget dynamic drivers struggle when reproducing layered sounds (like a band playing into a central mic, or superimposed tracks, etc), which for me, generally correlates with a 2d Soundstage. Panda's driver diaphragm is larger than the M50, our planar ribbon doesn't struggle with layering like budget dynamic drivers do, so while I don't have an M50 handy, it's hard to imagine picking a slightly wider 2d soundstage, over a 3d soundstage. Now, when we go into the world of M50 BT... that's another ball of wax. I don't know much about their amplification solution, but based on industry norms, it would have ~100x the distortion of our AAA solution. M50 BT also doesn't support LDAC, but that's mostly a contributing factor to the views discussed above. Anyway, we're comparing a $200 product to a $400 product, but I think you get what you pay for with both of these headphones.

WillCan't argue with empirical data. I probably should have mentioned that these by far exceed the performance and ability of the ATH-M50x BTs AND are made for those that are looking to experience next level performance in the beginning of my comment. In fact, the Pandas could easily out perform headphones in a classes much higher than it and could be seen as a marvel. The law of diminishing returns applies but after some point it all becomes a wash. Even if you could afford headphones much more expensive there will almost always be some sort of trade off. And I also don't always like comparing class for that very reason. Sometimes a good headphone is just a good headphone no matter the cost. And to give credit where it's due, these are just a great headphone! I understand and respect your opinion on both. For most people who use headphones casually, they probably won't notice enough of the difference to justify the cost for them, but that shouldn't take away from what these are and what they are intended for. The features speak for themselves and everyone's experience will be different. I appreciate the dialogue.

WillYou were right! It must have been the song I was listening to or the cable I was using connected to my DAC / AMP. Haven’t heard it since.
