this seems terrible for the price, doesn't it?

Checked out my keyboard today. Unfortunately it has a lot of ping, so it really doesn't have a nice sound when typing. It's extremely light as well. I bought it as a gift, so I hope the person I bought it for likes it more than I do...

I will also add that my personal Fusion seems to show that someone went the "extra mile" on assembling the keyboard. The cardboard (on the packaging) looks "steamed" and curved on purpose. (I'm not joking.) The keycaps install and are removed with very little pressure compared to what a "tight fit" or "overly tight fit" would be. Again, no idea if that signifies anything. A really clean (? a better word needed? precise..?) and very nice presentation. A little bit of Commodore 64 land for me.

I have a lot of keyboards. This one is pretty rad!!! (I didn't manage to "go" for this one when it was on Drop last time. I ended up getting it somewhere else. Does anyone want a long drawn out post on keyboards shoved in here?! lol)

How does one type ~/` on such a keyboard? On my HHKB/Truefox it's over in the backspace's usual spot. Is it just not an option on these without remapping?

caseycole589It's... decent? Key remapping on the base and function layers, support for basic macros and things like that. Nothing fancy, and a far cry from something like QMK. But sufficient for my (moderate) needs.

Looks awesome. Shame about the switches. I don’t even need hotswap per se, just… why does Drop pretend MX Cherry Clears aren’t a thing? I love clears. Clears are some of the best switches around. Yet every time there’s a Cherry-switch keyboard it’s like Browns, Reds, Browns, Browns, and Blues that are fun for about 10 minutes and then you’re like wow never again. Oh! And Browns!
I stand corrected. It just seems like every vendor who offers only Cherry switches completely ignores Clears. I’ve seen this happen several times.

graphite_all_nightLeopold is pretty good about offering MX clears on most of their boards. Same with Vortex/Mistel/IKBC. There's obviously a demand.
Not Hot-Swap and Cherry MX switches, damn. If one of those were different I'd grab one as I love how the original looks.

"Cherry MX switches are soldered in to provide a satisfying, precise feel" I don't think I have ever seen a keyboard description this creative to sell a non-hotswap board as a GOOD thing. Honestly would have ordered if it were hotswap.

Or rather: soldered so we could save an extra buck or two.

Man I just hate it when I type on a hot swap board and the switches wobble, such an unsatisfying experience.
