It is the board game! haha. Complete in all it's glory and it's a lot of glory! I didn't know what I getting myself into as I've never played a boardgame like this or even know what it was about, but the hype got to me. Did some research and felt like I knew what I was getting myself into but it can be a lot to take in. If you don't know what this game is about I would suggest a little research. If still intrigue, and I hope you will be, then take the plunge. FYI: They have released an "extra" that maybe purchased separately, which are removable stickers that you use as you play. Highly recommend if you plan on replaying. I believe these might be for the 1st and 2nd edition of the game. There's so much game that the removable stickers might not be necessary, unless you absolutely want to restart everything, but that will be your decision.
Stupid heavy box filled to the brim with content. So many missions, characters, items, tilesets, and monsters, it took hours to even just sort through them. Would strongly recommend a box insert to help organize components, but even without, the game is a slow, but well thought out and highly enjoyable experience.
The RPG immersion is all inside. It is just brilliant, considering the wealth of components and scenarios to play it is great value. The gameplay is incredibly well thought out, rules fairly straightforward. The most complex rules are handling how enemies focus on players, but you'll get the hang of it in no time.
This thing was huge! Took me a while to get through one of the little stories in it, but I had a blast playing and it's great fun for my nerdy friends and I.
Have been running a campaign with friends for months now pretty much weekly. One of the best board games you can play, just make sure you have the time to play through it!
Great price, plenty of content. GH's hand management is a good change from the usual dice-chucking dungeoncrawlers. Miniatures are a PITA to proxy, though! :P
