I will say it was a lot harder to get these magnets to line up than I thought it would be, lol. I fixed it by re-doing them in the corners, what a pain. What I should have done was move them to the sides, glue one to the wood, add the second magnet on top of the glued one and put them in a vice and squish them into the wood which is soft, then glue them all in after with super glue. Which is how I think they were done originally, but without the super glue. Not ever gonna tell you how I did it, even though it worked, but talk about trial and error, lol. I'll add a pic once its finished drying and I sand it lol. I think I may even paint it if I find more free time. I know, silly, but after the time I spent already it would be simple compared, facepalm.
Mine came in today, and while I'm more than pleased with the appearence, I'm very displeased with the workmanship/QA involved... so loose I used pliers like others on here, and then almost bent one part too far so it wouldn't fit on the stem.
Great artisan, but I shouldn't have to DIY it to get it to work.
Ok, I got mine a few days ago. It was in the box loose with the top off the wooden box so basically 3 pieces exactly like ACookMan's below. The key cap was fine, more on that later. The wooden box it came in is big and ok looking. My guess is it's supposed to protect the cap and look good. It failed on both. It was open in the box when it arrived. The magnets didn't line up and one of them came out of the bottom part and was stuck to the top. I can fix it easily enough. Which brings me to my point. Why bother with the fancy packaging if your not going to do it correctly. I'm sure the cost of the box is worked into the total price of the key itself . Why not ship the key in a small basic and safe container and pass the savings on to the consumer. The Keycap itself is beautiful. It's solid, well made but I haven't tried it on a keyboard yet. The detail is awesome and you can tell it took some time to create the original and I'm very pleased with it! Keycap is AA++, the box is junk, sorry. PS, if they ever return I'll grab the Solid Silver version it looks so good!
Update: the cap fell off quite easily. I took a look at the female stem and noticed it has two horizontal notches in it. With a pair of needle nose pliers, I very gently squeezed the stem shut slightly, and now it fits nice and snug!
Just got mine today. Luckily it's made of metal or I'm not sure it would've survived rattling around loose in the shipping box.
How it looked when I opened the box and removed the (futile) plastic bubble:
ACookManSame exact deal with mine -- rattling around in the box. I can't believe anyone thought this was the appropriate way to pack these. The magnets in the wooden box's lid aren't nearly strong enough to keep it closed in shipping.
Cap came today(bronze). Really looks good. Nice weight to it. Pretty good quality overall.
Now, if it would only fit on a switch stem, instead of instantly falling off...😐

Really is a shame it is too big for stem. Even tried on Halo clears, mx blue, and it broke two test switches on test board. Box white and box red
Really hope we see a round 2 drop from maybe extra units, hell, I will even wait months again, kicking myself for not also getting one in silver.
Edit: glad I did not get silver actually, cap looks great, but is too big to sit even remotely snug on a switch stem.
