mejbpThat's just weird. I personally think postal rates are black magic.

In the overview, it talks about the "women’s regular-fit Crown V.C. 60 KI " but then in the specs it says that the "Crown V.C. 60 KI (Regular)... Comes with men’s medium hip belt." Why does the women's fit bag come with a men's hip belt? Or is this an error?

@MassdropUltralight Is this the V1 Crown, or is it the Crown 2?

I've used a Crown 2 and had no problem with the straps. I'm guessing the guy likes to wear his packs with most of the weight on the shoulder straps. These packs are meant to be worn with most of the weight on the hip strap, and very little on the shoulder straps. He also says he really likes attachment points on bottom of the pack for tent, ect. Not the type of user who is going to use this pack. In the video I didn't see a section where he shows how he put it on. Would have been very useful to watch his sequence of tightning the various straps. Even taking off the bag would have been insightful as he should have used the oposite sequence. I did get some insight when at the end of the video he shows the pack he likes more and then shows throwing it 60 feet down the hill. Not quite how I'd test a pack. This drop is for the precurser to the Crown 2, a better pack, in my opinion. And even better, is the MassdropXCrown2 where they did some mods on the Crown2. I have the Crown2 and my son (in Scouts) has the Massdrop version.

DismalDaveIt seems obvious that backpacks are like food, shoes, colors, and clothing, and each person has a personal preference. Bottom line, all human bodies are different, so the comfort level will vary. Sometimes operator error, improper sizing, strap type, padding, weight of the load being carried, type of terrain, fitness level, weather, footwear, and the failure to make the proper adjustments are all part of the many calculations and factors that affect and determine the performance, suitability, and comfort level of a backpack!

I have this bag and I use this for a hip belt. It's bigger than GG's hipbelt (it fits my phablet) at half the price.

A drop for the Crown 2 (the replacement for this pack) would be a really good idea.

I've had this pack for two years and love it. Just can't justify getting a Zpacks or HMG since this is such a good pack...especially for the money. Basically same price on amazon and other retailers though.

There probably aren't any of these being purchased because you can get them right now for $149.96 and free shipping through campsaver since it's being replaced by the Crown 2. I'm sure in the not too distant future the price on these will come down closer to $100.

bszerenyiYeah, and the pack gets to you in a week. Campsaver has most colors and sizes as well. Not a great drop, IMHO...

Does anyone know if the interchangeable hipbelt on the new Crown 2 pack will retrofit onto this first edition? The version 2 belt has built in pockets that I would prefer over strapping them on aftermarket.

I used this pack for several years. It's a good starter lighter weight pack but feel you have to be ok with going frameless. Several times I carried extra water for caching - around 35 lbs total weight but that was for only several hours so I cannot speak to hiking longer with that much weight. This is a good price- I purchased mine probably years ago at least, for around $195 at REI.
