I don't own the Q701/K701 (even though the K701 was the headphone that got me interested into this hobby :p ) so I might not be too helpful on that part (you should be able to find a few options if you google a bit). I do use the HE-400's, K550, and DT880-600 ohm with the H10 (with the HE-400 being my main pair).
In the H10 there are two sets of op-amps (two dual in the rear near the inputs and two singles on the opposite side of the transformers) you can change them ("roll" them, which is just swapping them to tailor the sound to your preference) to alter the sound a bit more (not to say the stock op-amps are bad, since they are great). As mentioned previously I have a set dual/single op-amps coming my way to test out how drastic the change is/may be (I am pretty curious though).
While the H10 has a balanced input, it does not have a balanced output. On the back of the H10 there are two input options XLR (which are balanced) and the RCA(which are unbalanced).

NERVWhere can I buy these op-amps? It feels like they are some sort of raw-materials and may not be obtainable from amazon etc. Besides, new power cord has arrived and it works well.

gamewdmThere are hundreds types of op-amps. To know which ones to buy, you can start from reading posts here:

Once you have decide which op-amps to try, then you can try to buy them from http://www.digikey.com/ and http://www.mouser.com/ or other similar places

wwmhfWow thanks! I'll definitely try some op-amps mentioned. There is so much to learn before picking op-amps... I need to recall what I learned in high school to understand those specifications haha

E-MU Teak Repair - Any Experience?

Hello, I am wondering if anybody has any experience contacting E-MU support, sending them headphones for repair, or getting them back fixed. Can anybody share any experience? I have been emailing them for a while now, but nobody has responded. Thank you.

pc38x still has audio coming through with the volume dial turned all the way down

Finally got my hands on the pc38x. I mostly wanted to try this headset because of all the good things i heard about it. Out of the box i wasn’t really impressed. My 50 dollar astros were just as loud if not louder. After setting up an EQ on dolby access i got them sounding a little better. But one thing that really bothers me is the volume dial on the headset. When i turn it all the way down there’s so much audio still coming through, like the headset is turned up 10-20%. Is this normal?

My little room work in progress.

It's not done, I apologize for the mess. Health issues have put this on hold. It's a small room and I'm likely to sell off my KEF 104.2 loudspeakers and some other gear after surrendering the living room to my wife after her patience of 35 years. She deserved her own little sanctuary.

New addition to the stable.

I made the decision to take advantage of the $600. price on the HiFiMan Arya Stealth, here pictured with the Meze 109 Pro. I think 2025 is going to be a really uneventful year so far as new purchases. I've also upgraded my Fiio BTR7 to the newly released BTR17 and I purchased the Earmen stack which consists of Amplifier, Linear PS, DAC & Streamer.
