No longer does taking a shower and saving water have to be mutually exclusive. Introducing the Hydra Aloe showerhead: an intuitive shower attachment that conserves water and boasts a ton of smart features Read More
Here's something to consider... in the USA, the average cost of utility water is about $0.0015 per gallon. A ten minute shower consumes about 25 gallons at a cost of about $0.0375 per shower.
This device saves about 8 gallons of water per shower which is a savings of about $0.0015 x 8 = $0.012 per shower.
If you take a shower everyday with this shower head, it will save you about 365 x $0.012 = $4.38 per year (again, that's assuming you take only one 10 minute shower every day).
At a cost of $70, this shower head would pay for itself in about 15 years based on the variables used above.
In conclusion, on a person to person basis, it seems the best reason to purchase this shower head is for its features more so than it's savings. Personally, I already have a water-saving show head, but it certainly doesn't have the neat features that this one does.
And as a final point for environmentally conscious people, if everyone were to use a water-saving shower head it would certainly reduce the total amount of water we use as a population, which is not a bad thing. Of course, if everyone would use a water-saving shower head and take shorter showers less often, we would consume even less water as a population. Just be sure to use deodorant, please.
Perhaps, if it were the model shown, that's green when lit up with the nice squared handle, then it may be worth $70. I'm guessing though that it's the much cheaper looking model.
The product we're offering is indeed the mirror finish with sharp corners on the handle. The curved showerhead images were a mixup, and we'll try to correct as soon as possible. Thanks for the flag.
RHQ13We're actually offering the nice squared handle version. There was a mixup with the images. We're selling the Aloe model, which is like you said a bit nicer. Sorry for the confusion, we're fixing the images right now.
