Beautiful, but pakkawood is less ideal then I thought
I love the weight and the look of these tools. and the shapes they offer are effective. However, over time I have realized that because pakkawood is a laminated material, it has a tendency to ship off bits. now an olive wood utensil will become damaged too if not taken care of properly, but it does have seams like this material does. Overall, it is novel and striking in appearance, but serious cooks should look to real wood materials.

Beautiful in appearance and nice in real use
We've been very careful in washing these and they've held up wonderfully. They look great and are just as good in function. While I clearly don't know the facts of the review(s) that have been disappointed in how they've held up, I'd suspect it has to do with putting them in a dishwasher. I would never do that to any wooden utensils. We hand wash these after use and they're holding up perfectly.

Damaged after the first use. The wood layers are already splitting apart, after using these utensils in boiling water.
