A reminder of our tiny, insignificant place in the universe for some, and a celebration of the wonders of space for others: Our planet, the Blue Little Dot, is the inspiration for these Jelly Key artisans. Made from resin, these caps are designed for the enter or shift key Read More
Will this ever drop again? I regret passing on it... How much $ did it drop for? I am going to cry if I don't have another chance to purchase this, I do not like buying from resale...
shyBravadoI ended up buying it from /r/mechmarket on reddit. I paid $100 including shipping. Unfortunately have to pay more than retail on most cases. The Blue Little Dot is rare to pop up though, so good luck.
I just got mine in the mail an hour back. Pictures don't really do this keycap justice; I understand why previous user attempts from previous moon-based keycap runs at trying to photograph these kind of caps have fallen flat- most cameras soften the nitty-gritty texture inside them, making them look cheap; hell- half the photos I took with both my phone and camera had this effect. In-person, they're nothing like that at-all- they look and feel premium, which extends to the packaging they arrive in; I've tried to picture their level of detail in my photos.
The texture work on the surface is pretty great and is on-par to what JellyKey advertised on its campaign in terms of crater density, variation, and detail, and the little Earth thing is domed and has an inner layer of clouds within the dot encapsulated within the resin, which is pretty cool and something not even in the campaign photographs; this is pretty impossible to capture in photo, but I hope the side-shots give you an idea of what I mean. That, and the stars are nearly impossible to capture too; you need to be looking at them at the right angle to see how clustered they are- and it's really a gorgeous marvel to behold when looking at these in person.
There is an impact on responsiveness (youtube(dot)com/watch?v=FKG7M8DPyHU) but overall- I'm really happy with my purchase- the caps gorgeous (trust me, I cannot state this enough- pictures do not do justice to just how awesome this looks in-person) and this keycap has found a home on my keyboard. :)
JsDartThank you very much for the very detailed review.
I think someone must say "thank you" for this kind of review.
Giving my thumb up is not enough so I leave a comment.
What's recommended if the keycap binds with the stabilizers? I'm trying to install in the left shift position. My keyboard uses plate mounted Cherry stabilizers. I don't wanna modify anything without suggestions on what first to actually modify.
Also... This is such a BEAUTIFUL keycap!!! :D
While the color is not a match for Danger Zone, it is close enough that I am MORE than comfortable with its look, as is!
I'll share, but I wanna get this binding figured out first. Key won't come back up on it's own, when I install this cap.
Weather here's been pretty nasty lately. I like to take my shots in sunlight, so I get accurate colors and good illumination. As soon as the rain/sleet/snow stops (and I actually get the key mounted properly), I'll get those shots!
richfilesI'm having the same binding issue if I use it on another keyboard. I'm not too familiar with how this works or how to solve it; if you manage to fix it for yourself, can you follow-up here with what you did?
JellyKeyThis key is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
I play the game Kerbal Space Program, and I am building a instrument panel with gauges, meters, joysticks, toggle switches, and everything. This key will look SO GOOD on the keyboard that will be used with this instrument panel! I do hope you decide to make a blue version of the SpaceBar. it would look so good on my keyboard, and pair nicely with the Little Blue Dot!
I took the key cap to work with me today, just to show it off to my coworkers! The level is detail is exquisite! :)
Thank you for making this!
Thank you all for participating in this Drop.
MassDrop have sent us a confirm orders. It's nearly 300 keycaps with 9 options.
Blue Little Dot is the most ordered option.
The rareness of each keycap is range from 2 keycaps to 50 keycaps.
You can say that the keycap is super rare to very rare :D
We will handcraft it as soon as possible and update the status of the Drop here, in this discussion section.
P/S: We have something on our instagram, something very cute, please check it out. https://www.instagram.com/joiha.studio/
JellyKeyI just noticed that the doggo one you're currently sellings delivery is estimated to by 45 days, putting it somewhere mid-April. The drop for this enter key on Massdrop though has an estimated ship date of May. I guess that it's probably easier to manufacture the doggo ones and how you sell things is your decision- but shouldn't people from this drop start receiving their keys BEFORE those from a drop that started after this one?
JsDartThe doggo is easier to product, and to amount is very limited is around 30 each (around 90 in total). So we will deliver it earlier.
We usually use spare time while waiting between the state of production to work on small GB.
Thank you for asking us <3
