pulled the trigger on black / orange. This seems like really good value for a full set with compatibility keys, and even with the few dodgy legends I think the price is worth it.
Edit: are the space bars 6.25 and 7u?

ItsBarney01Yes, they are listed as such on the zFrontier site.

definitely buy this if you're into low quality sets that are overpriced. love the little tabs on them from the molds and the busted legends. head over to reddit too they will recommend these all day
Thanks Vigrith. I try to understand it from different perspective.

These keycaps use the same quality ABS and are basically a poor man's version of GMK. If you don't mind some legend inconsistencies they're perfectly fine keycaps.
The poster is kind of just an ass, don't take his trolling as gospel.

I like the orange and white set, but I have a black base. Will this look good?

TikaunaWhy shouldn't it look good? Black cases are neutral and you can install any set on them.

Two days left and no sign of the modifiers?! I bought the red on white kit but I also want the red on white modifiers. :(

c_r_zUnderstandable, not saying you should cancel your order at MD, but zFrontier has a good reputation and could fullfill your desire for $105 with free shipping: https://en.zfrontier.com/collections/keysets/products/jtk-red-on-white?variant=32883928779
MD is still nice a lot of times for rare drops, but its not forbidden to look at other places :)

will this kit fit out a tada 68?

nikky_cageYes and no, depending on how you look at it.
Yes there's a 1.75u Shift key, there are a bunch of novelties you could use to fill the right column (keep in mind that the only extra R3 1u key is a "+" symbol) so if you are satisfied with using some random novelties for PgUp/PgDn/1u Ctrl and 1u Alt you can use one of the JTK sets.
No, the JTK kits in the pictures don't have the keys with proper legends to fill some of the Tada68 specific keys. R3 PgUp is missing, R4 PgDn is missing. 1u Alt and 1u Ctrl are missing. So if you want keys that have the proper legends you need to get something like a GMK base set.
TLDR Yes if you don't mind some random legends on a few of the keys, no if you want to have proper legends for all the keys.
LE There's always the option of using the wrong profile PgUp/PgDn but that sucks even more than the random legends.
OMG, I LOVE these keycaps (in orange/white)!! If ONLY they supported backlighting, I would find a way to get them! I am dumb, and chose white/orange/black as my personal signature color scheme, which turns out is not used by anybody else on the planet. I love that it makes me unique, but when it comes to buying products that match no one makes anything that does. I am so surprised and delighted to see it here, but I rely on backlighting to see my key legends. My left radial nerve is injured, so I can't home-key type with that hand. I have to hunt-and-peck with my left ring finger and my right hand covers a larger portion of the keyboard than normal.
I will have to continue waiting, but it is great to see a keycap designer using my favorite colors. Maybe this will eventually spread to some of the new PBT double-shot keycaps that support backlighting, but backlit doubleshot ABS would be a great start if in white/orange.
I think you have to have a mind that is capable of that, or you have to have learned to type that way when your mind is young and malleable. When I look at the center of the keyboard I lose my place. I just see a jumbled mess of nothing. My head can only work from the home keys (with their little bumps) because of muscle memory, but that muscle memory only works if my hands stay in a set position. Having to move my right hand to momentarily hit a key my left should have hit forces me to fumble around feeling for the home key bump or look at the keyboard to reset my position. I have to be looking at the keyboard to contribute anything with my left hand.
I spilled a bunch of orange soda into my K-type a week or two after I first got it (naturally), and looking back on it, when I went to put the keys back on I worked from the edges/modifiers in towards the center. I placed keys in phrases like 'qwerty', 'asdf', 'gh', 'jkl', and 'zxcv'. I accidentally swapped semicolon and single-quote, hyphen and equal sign, and 'n' and 'm'. I learned to type in my teens by accident just by trying to keep up with the wall of text that was IRC (internet relay chat, the first real form of text chat on the internet, which is still popular today for certain groups of people -- especially open source software). My ability to type using home keys was all muscle memory, because I could look away from the keyboard and type if I didn't think about it, but when I did think about it and my head didn't know where that key was, I would lose my place. I am not capable of "instantly knowing" where a key on the keyboard is. I have to walk along known keys to find that key. I could do it, but I would be typing at 10 or so words per minute while I fumbled around trying to rationalize where the keys I am trying to find are.
At this point in life I just don't have the years and years of time it would take for me to learn the exact location of every key on the keyboard.

TipsyMacScotchslurpenThat makes sense. Personally while I don't know the *exact* location, if I start from the middle of the board I can do it via muscle memory without needing to look at the board. I also seem to have the entire first row memorized, so if I get off center I can remember that the first row is qwertyuiop and I can re-orient myself that way, or with the homing keys. I did not memorize this on purpose. Just happened that way.
I don't understand, which one is better? Tai-Hao or JTK? The quality of the keycap is different, do you try the keycap on switches? Does It feel better than most stock abs keycap when you find in Razer, Corsair, Cooler Master (RGB and White only)?

NarrcasticMeaningJTK is by far a superior product to Tai-Hao, they are not even in competition as Tai-Hao is a good keycap in the budget segment. JTK can be compared with GMK that is about twice as expensive. The only thing that really stands out to me in comparison is more inconsistent legends and worse compatibility ( notably no ISO support ). I would also wholeheartedly recommend JTK.
EvershiftI prefer JTK over Tai-Hao because the thickness of the keycap. I will get it the keycap and I will buy it in my another account.

There's something else I don't get, the description page mentions:
  • Red/white kit: 143 total keys
  • Black/pink kit: 157 total keys
  • White/pink kit: 155 total keys
  • Black/orange kit: 142 total keys
  • White/orange kit: 144 total keys

But I see that the Red/white (shouldn't this one be White/red to keep things consistent with the others?!) and the White/orange have the same number of extra keys in the picture. Yet the list shows different numbers. The same applies to the Black/pink and White/pink, same extra caps in the picture but different numbers in the list. So what's accurate, the pic or the list? If I counted correctly the pic for the Black/Orange kit suggests 132 keycaps, the ones for Red/white and White/orange suggest 135 keycaps and the other two suggest 144 keys. What exactly are we getting here? I want to add a JTK set to my collection but I'm confused by the discrepancies between the pics and the description.

I got my JTK Toxic yesterday and so far they are awesome; clear legends, minimal keycap wobble, vibrant colors, best packaging. The only problem I had was that my $50 Chinese 81key board had a 1.5u shift key when they really could have fit a 1.75u shift but i just used an Alt key so yeah.
