Seeing as the manufacturer is answering questions here, would you say these are good for TV watching instead of music? And what distance from them is for optimal listening? Does the sound become distorted when turned up to ludicrous levels?

HurkyPanglesHey Hurky. Great questions! The YU2 speakers were designed for desktop listening applications and were not designed to be used for home theatre setups. That being said, they are incredibly and ridiculously powerful for their size even at high volume levels with no distortion. The sound quality will always be subject to the type of source material you are using, but the ideal volume knob positioning would be around the 1-2 o'clock range. Nevertheless, the YU2's should be ideal only in a small room environment even if used for TV watching. In that kind of application optimum listening distance would be 6–10 feet. You of course always have the option of expanding the bass response with the addition of a powered sub.
Hope these answers help!
