The SAL is a great pair of desktop speakers with crystal clear sound quality and a pretty flat equalizer that sounds perfect spaced a few feet away from you, but they can't fill a room with sound like the YU5's can. If you want real room shaking sound with bass that you feel in your gut then go for the YU5's. I don't regret either purchase. I use the YU5's for casual computer desk listening and the YU5's for TV movies games or whatever when i'm sitting ~12 feet back or have a bunch of people in the room.
