Love the sound but the connection keeps dropping to standby mode when I pause the music. Quite annoying meaning I can’t connect the speakers to work with echo. Unfortunately have to get new ones :(
I just have my Echo dot sitting on top of the main YU5, getting power from the USB port on the back and connected back to the speaker using the aux cable. I also have a Harmony hub to automatically switch the speakers into bluetooth mode by saying "Alexa, turn on the speakers."
I just bought the Kanto YU5 speakers and they keep turning back into standby mode (orange light) whenever I try to turn it on for 10 seconds... Can someone help me with this please?
I went to their website and sent them a message. They reply asking for my invoice, and offered to replace it with the Kanto YU6. :) Perfect customer service.
Got mine last night and they are REAL nice sounding. Love the digital inputs for my PC and the Bluetooth connection for my phone and tablet. Excellent and very balanced sound and responsive enough low bass to run great without a sub. Also sounds great using the 3.5mm headphone out from my computer. So happy with this drop and price! *update* (Oh wow, just played Awolnation's "Sail" and my goodness the bass response on these are amazing)
I have an Audioengine D1 DAC with RCA out (as well as optical) and since it seems these speakers have built in DAC, is it necessary for me to use the D1? Or should I go straight from computer via 3.5mm? (I don't have optical built into my computer). otherwise what are some good input setups? Thanks!
I have had a set of these for a few weeks and the Bluetooth connection keeps dropping. I am primarily using it with my iPhone 6 and often put the phone right next to speakers. It also stinks with my 2012 Macbook Pro, which I usually have set up about 15-20 feet away. Any troubleshooting I can do or does it sound like defective speakers? I've used same speakers in friend's house with little/no issue.
davidcfriedlanderThe bluetooth has worked great for me on these. I've been able to walk around from my room to the kitchen and living room with out dropping connection from my phone.
adortegaIs your Focusrite a Scarlett series?
Imo the audio interface doesn't matter a lot with powered speakers as a lot of features are built in (amp, dac, etc.) Many headphone amps usually only work as a pass-through for that exact reason.
I like Scarlett's stuff, but you probably won't notice a difference if you plug the Yu5 into your computer rather than the audio interface.
Cool. Thanks. I have one of these at home and use it with my Mac to my ParasoundZdac. Was just wondering how I will hook up my work PC to these. So the Audio Jack runs into the built in DAC as well? These look like a winner to me although maybe a bit big for work.
ematthewsIf you are using the 3.5mm audio output from your work PC it will already be processed by the on-board DAC from your PC and you can plug it straight into the 3.5mm input on the YU5.
Does anyone have experience with the YU6? Is there much difference? It appears that the drivers are both still 5.25", and they have all the same features except the YU6 says it's a total of 100W instead of the 80W from the YU5? If I can get a YU6 set for 330 is it worth the 100 bucks?
WildMurphI have a pair of YU4, YU5, and YU6. The YU5&6 are almost identical but the YU6 turns itself on almost instantly when coming out of standby. I only use the digital input on both so I haven't really put them through their paces. Hard to say if its worth the extra hundy.
