The original CUBE, conceived by woodworker Mike Dudek, was made of a single piece of walnut. Its wild success among pen enthusiasts helped fuel the birth of Dudek Modern Goods. Now, in a collaboration between Dudek and KarasKustoms—known for its machined-metal writing instruments, pen holders, spinning tops, and other products—the CUBE has been given a makeover. And if you need notebook or business card storage, it comes in two other versions to accommodate those, as well.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice between the CUBE pen holder (holds 9 pens), the CUBE with pen and notebook storage (holds 3 pens), or the CUBE with business card storage (holds 6 pens). All three options are available with either a machined aluminum or tumbled aluminum finish.
Machined from a solid block of 6061 aluminum, the CUBE features nine discrete pen slots. Each slot is fitted with a 2-inch-long black insert, which measures 0.56 inches in diameter—large enough to hold most pens. At nearly 2 pounds, the CUBE is sturdy on its own, but to ensure its desktop stability it’s equipped with high-traction rubber feet. Both finishes are rough-tumbled before being anodized, leaving them with light surface detailing.
